Today I had a very important faculty meeting on which I had to defend a new program that is being created (I worked on creating the courses as well). There are several professors who did not want this program to be adopted so the outlook for the day was a difficult one. I prepared myself as best I could and then added what I like to call "the marty power" which can be summarized as being in-tune with the Marty and LH vibe, wear as many objects that remind u of them and have a general positive feeling about what is to come. Thus, I woke up and immediately played the MCLH cd while getting dressed, wore jewerly that reminded me of MC (i.e. some kokopelli earrings that are very dear to me [note that he was wearing a kokopelli necklace when I met him at Boca], and of course the MC.org wristband, despite the fact that it clashed with my professional attire LOL), logged into MC.org briefly before leaving the house, got into my suv and of course listened to MCLH on the way to work, arrived at workplace and of course kept listening to them on my Ipod until it was time for the meeting. I know this might sound crazy but all that process totally pepped me up for the meeting, and thinking about the risks MC and LH are taking and this new journey they have embarked upon is in itself inspiring and uplifting so I felt I had the "marty power" and guess what?? The meeting was a success, and I was able to get UNANIMOUS approval of the program, despite some initial discussion with naysayers... it was amazing!! So thank you MC and LH for being such an inspiration, and for helping me get in touch with my rock roots and with some energies I had forgotten I had Do u guys have similar "marty power" stories you wish to share?? I thought we could use this thread for that.

You said it and its so true. I've been reading a book called "Anam Cara", its about the celtic belief in the Kindred Spirit. I so believe that the "Marty power" you are speaking of is Love . Pure Love and we as fans are so lucky to share that love and be able to access it daily in our lives and spread it to our friends and familys. Wow it just gives me chills thinking about it because it isn't about sexual attraction but more spiritual attraction in the love within all of us which Marty and Lovehammers are so able to manifest in their music and lives. I'm so grateful to be a part of that love.

I agree ... it is beyond a sexual attraction, even though he is stop-you-dead-in-your-tracks gorgeous. But his power isn't about his looks. MCLH's performances are transcendent. What I connect with is how Marty can put so much intensity into it, night after night, no matter what he is singing, and how he truly connects with the audience. It's never forced or artificial, and he never "phones it in." That's the difference between him and most other performers.

My friends think I'm so crazy when I talk like this, but I'm so glad you guys all "get it" with me. I feel the exact same way. I just get such an energy from all of them. When I meet anyone connected to them, it just seems like they're the same way too.
That's why I know they'll continue to be successful!

soveryspecial......I think you're on to something; I'll have to give it some more thought. Apart from a few brief hours the other day when I was quite down about my LH experiences being "over," not knowing when I'll see them again, etc. (and now it turns out it could very well have been these headaches I was having that contributed to that mood) I have been in this incredibe HIGH that I can't describe. More than just feeling good about seeing them, something bigger than that. It's carried over into the rest of my life - I feel happier about some situations in my life, decisive about a few things I was questioning which path to take........I dunno. Maybe subconsciously that does have something to do with Marty and the boys doing what they're meant to be doing?!!
I do have a similar situation at work next week where I need to convince a few naysayers about a direction to take. I will definitely put the Marty Power to work and see what happens.
I was already making plans to get a 2nd set of photos developed so I can put some up at work. It's amazing what a good mood I get into when I've logged int mc.org at work, viewed a few photos (okay, usually more than a few), and read a few posts before going to another meeting or dealing with another customer. So I decided I needed to be surrounded by Marty at work as well (a friend did suggest I leave room for my computer and telephones!)

I think I invoke the "Marty Power" everyday... but yesterday in particular. My husband and I are buying our first house and had our first meeting with our mortgage lady yesterday. We were very nervous, never having done this before, and not looking forward to our financial lives being scrutinized after a hard day at work, but you gotta do what you gotta do...so I put on my MC.org wristbands and put Ultrasound on the cd player for the ride there - the "power" kicked in and we were able to draw strength from this other part of our lives which is music and creativity and positivity... we walked in to the office and had a great meeting with a wonderful lady and took our first look into the next chapter of our lives. Groovy dudes!

Well, this may sound a little crazy, but sometimes after bathtime (for the kids) to give them one good burst of energy, we have what I like to call "Marty time" and I turn on the CD, and let them jump, dance, sing, whatever until they are content. It does seem to work sometimes..then I say okay, now its time to relax and go to your beds, and it works....Other times are for me....when I need "angela" time, I tend to wait until the kids are asleep, by then I am a little stressed by work and the kids b/c I work from home and I love to drive, so I will just drive around for a bit, or go to a friends house, anyway, I play Marty the whole time, just to rock out and unwind with the ending of clouds. I also use the Marty Power when I am pis*ed off. Just crank it up and just breathe and let Marty do the screamin for me. It sounds so much better with Marty doing it, lol. Yeah I would say The Marty Power is used by me alot......glad im not alone, but I didn't think I was

This thread is really onto something. Marty moves us, in just about every way. Let's say he touches all all the chakras - sexual, personal empowerment, love, intellect and spirit. It is sometimes awesome and sometimes painful. Just think of how Elvis or the Beattles opened up new doors in people's minds. The spirit works in mysterious ways, and right now she is hard at work through Marty. May we all see our own true selves in the depths of his genius.

Welcome to the Boards - I think you'll find a lot of us with a rockstar obsession like we've never felt before - and it's great to be able to share those mix of feelings and emotions with other people who "get it."
