Hi, I have to post a new thread because I am really a new person. The adult that I share a body with has posted here already, with my prodding, but today it is for me. Here is what I said to Marty when I met him In Jacksonville, thanks to my friend who spotted him down the block with just a few fans around we got to talk to him. When it was my turn I held my piece of paper in my trembling hands and told him that he could just make it to true fans. As he was writting, I said, "I have never fallen for a rocker before, but everytime I saw you on the show I began to tremble. Thank you for making me feel like I am in Junior High again. I can't wait to see you perform on the Grammys" That's when he opened those beautiful arms to hug me and after the hug I said, "And thanks for taking off your shirt tonight!" Well, ever since then I have been really burning inside this 32 year old body. But finding this web site and watching every video I can has finally given me the power to have some say in this body. Up until now, the adult and the kid have been running the show. Honestly, it is the good and stable life that the adult has created that has allowed me to feel safe to break out. Kind of like how Marty has been so responsible in his work so that he can have the feedom to pursue music. Well, this has all been scary for the adult and kid. They don't get why we are crying all the time. The adult did not understand why she was shaking in the presence of Marty. That was me in there shaking!! I have been under wraps for 16 years! I am trusting that the adult won't let me take over the whole show. We do still need to eat and clean house and such. But I am thankful that she is giving me the freedom to explore this new phase of life. I am so happy that there are so many of my fellow teens out there coming back to life inside adult bodies. Marty actually has a HUGE teen fan base, it's just that lots of us live in adult bodies and have been around enough to recognize something special when we see it! Now, my adult has to go pay some attention to her husband and do some chores. May we all keep each other real...

From one Inner Teen to Another - I like your style joely!! I also want to "Turn up the damn music!" I'm finally learning how good it feels to listen to great rock music! And I can't let a day go by without listening to their music - coming here and enjoying the pictures of Marty (and those other fine men in the LH Band) - and talking with people who are feeling a lot of those same emotions that my adult hasn't felt in way too long (because, for now, most other people I talk to about my latest obsession just shake their heads and wonder about my sanity or (if I'm lucky) ask "Who are they?") Looking forward to watching the rest of the world learn about this talented (and gorgeous) Band!! CJ Depoe Bay Oregon

Joely - how beautiful "Marty actually has a HUGE teen fan base, it's just that lots of us live in adult bodies and have been around enough to recognize something special when we see it!" You said it sister!
I could not agree more - I've been working on this presentation for the seniors at the university I have 2 degrees from and for the past 2 weeks have literally alternated working on that with visiting this site. The presentation was today and I think it went over well and afterwards found myself in a long conversation giving career advice to this 20-something young lady wondering WHO AM I?? We all wear many hats but I love your description of a teenager inside.
Just perfect!!

yeah, you really hit the nail on the head there Joely! I know exactky how you are feeling and how you felt. Too bad I never got to say anything, we were standing right in front of each other, just me and him, and i was like aw-struck! I guess he could sense it, so he reached out and hugged me. Got my pic and its beautiful!! I am 27 and i feel like I have a high school crush. Marty calms me, excites me and brings me alive through their music. Thanks for posting!

isn't it nice to be a teen but with an adult's financial means? It's like having permission to feed the obsession -- minus the posters on the wall.

No posters on the wall here, but seriously considering framing a big picture. That's grown-up right?

That is the power of great music! It lifts us, keeps us sane, and drives our passion! Marty and Lovehammers cause this reaction because they love what they do and all their fans! Enjoy life, enjoy music, and enjoy rocking on! Live My Life For Me hammeredinMN

I'm 43 and with the exception of the Lovehammers, the past year I've been able to see bands I've liked since the early-to-mid 80's on tour. I said it's nice to still like the same bands but even nicer to actually have money to go see them WHEN they're not playing in your town!

Joely ~ I'm glad you are around. You and Palari say the things I'm thinking! Thanks for another great post. Thanks Val, That means so much right now because my love of the Hammers is actually really inspiring me to remember the things that I love to do, and writing is one of them. I even got out some old poetry that I had written years ago and said - hey that's not bad. I got a job offer the other day out of the blue in a job I would really like, even though I am a "homemaker" right now. But it made me realize that I have some talents that I would enjoy sharing with others. Thank you Marty for being a great mirror!

Joely,
This is freaky!! I feel the exact same way. I will be turning 32 in October and I also feel my inner teen has re-emerged and I am loving it. I know we are still young but in my case after law school, grad school, jobs, quitting jobs..and a lot of other stuff ..i began to feel old tired and tied down. My little sister died three yrs ago in a car accident (I CANNOT BELIEVE i am sharing that info, cause I DON'T talk about it) and that really killed me as well. I have been a zombie since then...all numb and dead inside or in my own little hell (life in a comma??) ...and when I discovered Marty Casey and LH my soul lit up again...i am feeling more alive each day. It has been a wake up call "straight as an arrow" into my soul...
Now the freaky part: I was loggin on to change my profile to add the exact same lyric you have "I'm gonna solve your mystery...I'm gonna pull you into me" cause I have been repeating it like a mantra all week long...
love reading your posts!!

Joely, I so agree with everthing you said, I am 39 and was thinking of my obsession with Marty as a mid life crisis but prefer the thought that it is my inner teen bursting out. I just wish the outer bit still looked like a teen !!

I have had the inner teen always living in me. It's like culture shock looking in the mirror and seeing the woman I am with the kid still inside. But my kids think that is so cool to have a youthful mother. I could not miss one day of RS since the show started because of Marty stepping off that bus. I got my popcorn and my beer ready when the show came on. I sat glued to my tv taking in every breath of him. He is so hot. My daughter laughed because she thought here she goes again. Not only am I youthful on the inside, but it also appears on the outside as well. I look youthful for my age.
Hey Shuckra, I too held my breath when you said "Real estate appraiser" my gosh you got my heart beating. Well at lease I know I am still alive.
