I had the great pleasure last night of attending a show with Ed Kowalczyk from Live. I had the opportunity to ask him what he thought of Marty's performance of "I Alone" on Rockstar, and he said he really liked it, and hoped Marty would have won! I wish Marty could know that someone he respects, respects him back Bern

So Roger Taylor of Queen liked "the blonde guy", Roger Waters liked Marty's version of WYWH, and Ed Kowalczyk wanted Marty to win. I'm so glad Marty is getting recognition from other performers! That can make a big difference in his career.

Awesome! I'm so glad you asked. I think that's something he'd want to hear.

I agree, especially since that was the only performance that landed him in the bottom three. Personally, I really liked it. That was the first week I tuned into RS and he was the only reason I kept on watching.

His performance of "I, Alone" is THE most powerful performance I've ever seen anyone give. I still can't watch it without my hands shaking. It still blows me away!!!

I agree with you on that one BBE . . . that performance was pure talent and energy and it's the one that really hooked me. When I saw Marty do I Alone, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was watching something . . .and someone . . .special. It doesn't surprise me in the least that others saw it too.

...I had fallen much earlier...but I Alone...sealed it. It was a charismatic, dynamic performance that truly demonstrated his class and talent.
There was something new in that performance...an intensity and commitment...an energy and power that is still hard to define...but so easy to see and feel.
I still go back to watch it...still find myself rapt by it...enthralled...captivated by him.
He should be proud of that performance...the voting was not a reflection on his performance...if anything it is testament to the confidence the fans had that he would make it through.
...and he did...that bottom three moment gave us Don't Change...that one still sets my pants on fire!
I am going to go watch both of those again now!
see ya!!

Oh, now I'm going to have to watch them both, too ... he absolutely kicked the crap out of "Don't Change" (I mean that in a good way ... he pushed that song to new places). I love it when he totally lets it rip near the end. He's fearless. I also think his version with the house band was much better than the one with INXS.

I love it when he totally lets it rip near the end. He's fearless. I am so totally with you there...I love when he roars...not screams...ROARS into the microphone...muscles straining...throat open...mouth wide...totally in it...giving it to us...making it happen...blowing us out of our seats... every time he performed there was more to be amazed by...a new reason to exhale with the exertion of keeping up with him...another moment to sit stunned in your chair with...a new level of wonder... he is the shit ladies...way it is...

Yes the roar . . . he owns it and lets it out using everything he's got. Total abandon . . . whole body . . . there isn't one part of him that doesn't get involved. He throws himself into it completely, and nothing gets left behind. Including us. And yeah . . . stunned in my chair . . . I've been there. I think I met you there.
