(Found out about this from Bobice Hideaway) music.aol.com/home/blender/rock-5If you scroll to the bottom a poll will load - "Who should be Van Halen's Next Lead Singer?" and Marty is one of the choices. Not really sure what to think about it....

No way. I really want Lovehammers to get their opportunity to show the world what they can do. They have such incredible energy as a band and they are so unique in the sense that they really do love their fans and try to show it. No one can take their Marty away. I'll get down off my soap box now. Thank you.

it's kinda funny tho. I think we should vote for Marty not to take it seriously but just to show he has fans... I mean, Morrisey is one of the choices and that's hysterical!

I am worried about Marty and the Lovehammers!!!! How can we better spread the word??? He is playing at the Arco Arena in Sacramento on August 29th. My best friend who lives there was just here in Florida visiting with me and i played some Marty music and DVD;s and she fell in love with him, totally. Just heard from her and she and her friend are getting tickets for the show. ONLY $18.00 !!!!!!!! To me he is so much better than the ticket price. I worry that they will not make it at those prices. I would fly out and see the performance but I have a very important date and cannot make it. I mention him to everyone and no one has ever heard of him. I would love to have him come here to perform but so afraid the turnout would not be that great. I am sorry that I sound so gloom and doom, but I WORRY all the time that they are not going to make it. I pour through all of the music magazines and NEVER, EVER see anything in print. You would think they were invisible. Boy, do I need some cheering up. Is Epic records in California? Maybe they are out there making a new CD. God, I am so gone. I need a Marty fix so badly and I hurt all the time. I guess this is confession time. I need a good shrink!!!!!!! What does it take to make the Lovehammers better known? ? Jean , having nightmares!!!!!

I'm sorry everyone. I should have been more clear. The reason I wrote 'not sure what to think about this..." was because I didn't know if we should be happy he got mentioned by this magazine/ in an AOL poll , or if we should be ever so slightly offended that they he was put in such a frivolous poll.
Bottom line - it is a silly poll. Nothing to be worried about.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jean - there are tons of ideas on how to help spread the word on the band in the Street Team section and in the Hammerheads section. Besides ideas there are links to write or to vote to help the band. We always welcome fresh ideas so if you have any ideas come and share.
Yeah, radioclash, I had the same reaction you did, which ultimately made me not vote in the poll. It seemed a little snide ... but then, I checked the Blender website and the whole magazine has an "I'm too sexy for my shirt" vibe.
I didn't vote either. I have to agree with your assesment about that whole page and Blender mag in general.
I didn't vote either. Marty is much better than Bo! What does everyone think of his new video? I was disappointed.
RadioClash
You are right , instead of moaning about NO MARTY, I clipped out all of the entertainment venues in Florida, large and small. Am in the process of sending ALL of them information on Marty and the Lovehammers, complete with a few quotes from different papers and pictures. Maybe somehow, some venue will take notice.
Tried, can't hurt!!!!
Tried, can't hurt!!!! Jean That's awesome! Anything is worth trying at this point. It's all about making the name Lovehammers recognizable and everything else will hopefully follow. I rarely leave the house without a purse filled with at least some flyers, tape, and push-pins. You never know when you'll run into a bulletin board, etc. You can find some graphics for flyers in the Street Team section. Also, you may want to check out this thread: martycasey.proboards62.com/index.cgi?board=street&action=display&thread=1145663802and see if one of the stores is near you.
Not really sure what to think about it.... Oh, aaaaaaaaack! Van Halen Hammer, Eddie Van Casey, oh say it ain't so! Now that we have Marty back with his Lovehammers, that's where he needs to be for now. It would break a lot of hearts if Marty left at this point in time. ...and I know it's just a poll - but sheesh - really wish they wouldn't mess with the karma like that... No vote here either - but interesting nonetheless. At least Marty is in the "news" other than the weatherman's lunar report from Memphis.
