Thanks for listening to a slice of the new tracks. These are pieces of two of the many new songs that have been completed or are works in progress. They are always works in progress till officially released cause I never stop tweaking till I get them out officially. There are harder edged songs and big production ballads in the works. It seems that all of our albums have a wide range of songs. I still feel the need to scream ever once in awhile so there is always a rager or two in the mix. What has felt great over the past year is challenging myself and writing in different styles then I have in the past. "I See Stars" was the first song I ever wrote on the piano. It brings out different ideas and emotions. Every song created is really just an experiment. You never know what poeple are gonna connect with. The Riddle happened when I was just messing around and passing time waiting for the van to pick me up for a roadtrip to Atlanta and boom there it was. A fun ditty. I will try to post more stuff soon. Did everyone check out Merry Christmas (All Year Long)? I tried to do a true rock n roll Christmas song. I haven't heard a fresh Christmas song in awhile that rocked. The production is so big and boomy. I initally had bells and stuff in the bridge but I thought it would be a bit more timeless if we kept a punk element to it. The producer of the track, Marti Frederickson, did a nice job bringing the song to life. I really love that the band is willing to take chances and do things that other bands won't. Why not release a Christmas song and be a part of the great vibe in the air this time of year. It comes around every year and we always have a unique song to perform between Thanksgiving and New Years. We used to do "Aulde Lang Signe" but it was alwyas so damn hard to spell when printing out the set lists. And yes, we still do write out our set lists with a sharpie alot of the time. Something old school and cool when it's done like that. We final screened the DVD today and it turned out way better than I had imagined. There are some really really funny parts. Also, there are some parts that shocked me. You definitely get a sharp glimpse of yourself when you see backstage footage of your antics and the way you come off when being filmed. It's an eye opener for sure. At points in the show I kinda feel like "Who is that guy? Is that me?" I hope you like it. Who's coming to NYE show? Marty Casey I love reading you when you are talking about your songs...you sound like such a proud papa. And so you should be. ...you just make me smile so hard...

First Marty I just want to say thanks for taking the time to have these conversations with us. I love the new tracks. Personally I need variety in all things and the wide range of songs is one of the strongest attributes of your music, in my opinion. What ever you do please never stop screaming. It penetrates my soul and stirs the passion in me. Truly great artist don't change but are continuously evolving, that ability to change yet remain a constant endures. I look forward to all of your future work, every next thing you do. And thank god for a Christmas song that is ROCK, love it. You have me so excited about this DVD I can hardly wait. I have not doubt I will enjoy it, as I do everything else you do. I will see you NYE Sharon

Marty,
I love both of the new songs. You're right, they do seem quite different from what the band has done in the past. I almost want to say more "melodic", if that's the right term.
The verse in Watch You Go sounds much more like a regular Lovehammers song, but the "do do do dos" in between have such a different feel. I almost hate to say it, but the first thing that came to mind was harmonies I've heard from The Beach Boys and The Moody Blues. I actually love that type of harmony, thought. When I hear the final version, I will probably get a much different view - it's so hard to tell from such a short clip.
I See Stars is just different overall - I can't really say what it is about it, but I do love it.
LOVE!!!!! the Christmas song! A really Rockin' Christmas!
Will see you NYE! Lyn M.

I also love all the new songs. We bought MC/AYL yesterday and my 10 year old asked if she could put it on her ipod and show it to her friends. It's so catchy and sets just the right mood for X-mas.
I can't wait to hear the rest of "Watch You Go". It has so many layers. I just loves music that has layers and movement. Sounds so good so far. I'm real excited to hear more.
It's so great to see you here Marty. This is a great community. Thanks for drawing us all together.

I love the new tracks....listening was like unwrapping presents. Marty, your voice is incredible and I appreciate it loud, soft, slow, fast, screamimg, whispering, yelling....any way, any how. Variety is good...spice of life.
Sadly I will miss the NYE show...I couldn't make Jam so this is a double whammy... can't wait to see you perform again...there is NOTHING like it! Thank you Marty!

They truly rocked christmas, which is something I thought was virtually impossible. I love Barenaked Ladies but I did not like the Christmas record they did a few yrs ago...so I was a bit worried about how Marty's Christmas song would turn out but no need to worry: it is amazing!!!!!!! he pulled it off. now if i could just get the christmas tree lights to flash in synch with the song ...
