I click here every day. (this isn't a Spam site) It's for the Humane Society of the United States: Help protect needy dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals! When you click this link, corporate sponsors make a donation to the help the Humane Society vaccinate, provide check-ups, and spay or neuter pets who need care. Forward this email to all of your friends to help support even more! Simply go to the site and click on the "Click to help" button. It takes one second. Remember, you're only allowed one donation per day, so send the link to other friends! pets.care2.com/i?p=681687419

["I click here every day. (this isn't a Spam site) It's for the Humane Society of the United States:"]
It's a site that only donates 10 percent of it's profits to organizations they support, even if HSUS was a worthy organization to support, the percentage of their donations is abysmal.
["Help protect needy dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals! When you click this link, corporate sponsors make a donation to the help the Humane Society vaccinate, provide check-ups, and spay or neuter pets who need care."]
All lies. The HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) does no such thing. Not one vaccination is given, not one checkup provided and no spay/neuter programs are sponsored by the HSUS. You are confusing them with local/state Human Societies.
----
This is truly amazing to me. You have censored me.....you have prevented me from sharing the truth about an organization you neither have researched, nor have any understanding.
I was absolutely gobsmacked when I met such venom in reply to my last post about this organization. Instead of being thanked for the information, you stubbornly closed your mind, shut your eyes, and closed the topic making sure I was censored.
I would strongly suggest you do your own research (and don't just take the information on their website as gospel) and really see if this organization you so strongly support does any of the things you believe. Don't take my word for it....do a Google search and see all of the information written about the HSUS.
If you truly want to support organizations that actually DO the things you would like to support, find them and post information about them....but make sure it's the truth this time, and not just what you mistakenly believe.
Btw, your faq for this site is misleading and misrepresentative. You need to put in there that you DO censor opinions contrary to your own (instead of worrying about 1337, which I'm sure you'll never see here).
Thank you so much, have a nice day.....and make sure you do some research, you'll thank me.

I hate conflict of any kind and don't feel really strongly about clicking or not clicking, but I want to weigh in on the censorship thing.
1. The posts are still available for anyone to read. No one has deleted posts that express opposing opinions, its up to us the readers to evaluate. However, I appreciate the willingness to limit controversy. This is typically a friendly nonconfrontational site. That's why I love it so much.
2. Amy and Cindy both have put a lot of hard work into this site. Sure, lots of what is posted is in good fun, but it matters to me. I enjoy it greatly.
3. If anyone wants to post a "Hey, I think we can help" link (as long as it's w/in guidelines) I don't think it should be a problem. Post a disagreement, but then let it die. It's harmless.
4. I do tend to get up in arms when I feel like someone important to me is getting attacted..I think Amy is very important to all of us.
I'm not weighing in on the issue at all. I'm not attacking you MathMurderer. I believe in researching causes. I just think that saying you were censored was going way too far. My shock is that this continues to be brought up as conflict. If 1 penny goes to help animals then that should be ok.

Sorry, if I overstepped. I will now go back home to the Marty Fangirl area and be silly again.

I made my daily click. I feel good that I am helping a hungary, cold, defenseless dog/cat have a warm bed and food to eat. No charitable organization is perfectly managed, so keep clicking and sending in your donation to anyone who you feel needs it. We don't live in a perfect world and many in our own country need our help.

Thanks for the support. Now that the grandstanding is over, please go about normal posting. Keep in mind that I'm not asking anyone to agree with me or donate money....or even click if you don't want to. Click if you're so inclined and it will be much appreciated. If you don't want to click, that's okay too! We're not here for controversy. We're here to support Marty and to have a little fun in the OT area whilst online.

FYI - speaking of pets, I read this morning in my paper about "greenies". Those green chew things for dogs that are good for their teeth. Anyway, they can become very dangerous to them as they expand in their digestive system and can kill them. I had some that somebody gave me and threw them out. So just a warning to those that have dogs and are thinking about giving them to your dog - DON'T or at least click on this article to read and decide whether to or not. www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/news/13650171.htm

Anyway, they can become very dangerous to them as they expand in their digestive system and can kill them. I had some that somebody gave me and threw them out. So just a warning to those that have dogs and are thinking about giving them to your dog - DON'T. Now THAT's interesting . . . Greenies are my dog's favourite treat, he probably even knows how to spell the word! He's only about 12 pounds and has had one pretty much every day for over a year now. I have never heard anything bad about them. In fact, they are supposed to be really healthy and good for their teeth. Now I'm going to have to do some serious research to find out exactly what the risks are. He's never had a problem other than when we accidentally give him more than one a day, and then the next day his . . . um . . . poop is a little green ;D. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll definitely look into this.

OK, found an interesting write up on the following link: www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/greenies.aspThis is an urban legends site which has not yet determined whether the statements made about the risk of feeding Greenies to your dog are valid claims. However, there is reference to a little experiment which was done that I will definitely be trying tonight. The only problem is that it uses water instead of a dog's stomach acid . . . so I'm not sure what it will prove. On the bottom of this webpage there is a link to a very interesting newscast about Greenies. It's scary, but the media likes to be scary for impact so I'm still taking it with a grain of salt. I do need to speak with my vet because my dog has developed what appears to be an allergy (skin) to which I have not yet found the cause. May be a result of blockage in the intestines? I'll definitely be looking into this further. Apparently Greenies are the top selling dog treat in North America and have been likened to doggie 'crack'. I believe it. My dog is going to cry if Mom decides he can't have Greenies anymore.

Thanks rockfan. I tried the experiment and put a cut-up greenie in a bowl of water overnight. The claim was that it would turn in to a mass of foam rubber goo. This did not happen. The pieces were still there in the morning and the only change was that they were softer. So the jury is still out on this. I haven't spoken with my vet yet.
