Alright, first of all tattoos will not look bad when you get older...if you have a great artist and they put it in a location that will work. Yes some damage with age will occur, but I have seen people in there late 80's that have Sailor Jerry tattoo's that still rock.
I have FIVE of them (six really, but I had something added to one so I don't count that). My next one will be happening soon...
They do not hurt (it is a little annoying at best)... Make sure the person your going to has a clean shop....Check out the artist's work (they all have different style's of expertise)....talk to them about what you want...
As for meaning...all mine have meanings for me.
If writing Stiletto on you has a meaning in your heart..then do it for you. Just remember that it is FOREVER...get something that you will be proud of.
Do what ever is best for you...
Removal is painful, expensive, and will not remove everything. The ink is destroyed under the scar of the tattoo, but the scar will not be removed. It is like a ink less tattoo!

As much as I wanted the 'Stiletto' tattoo......after long contemplation I whave decided not to go with it..........I was a hairs breath away from doing it and stopped myself..........
I have other ways and means to preserve the 'stiletto' persona and experience that has somehow developed and grown over the last 5 or 6 years..........
I WILL be getting a tat tho............just a matter of when.

Sounds like a great plan. Ink is permanent. If your going to get one, don't regret what you had placed on you. Just remember to find a great artist. Don't look for 'cheap' either...when it comes to tattoo's you get what you pay for. Just check out the work.
You might look on Tattoo Locator or another site tattoo site on the web. Tattoo magazine's are great for listings of artists in your area.
Anyway, best of luck!!!
