I thought perhaps a general thread for prayer requests might be appropriate. Especially when it doesn't directly involve people from the board. I'm sure a mod will let me know if this isn't the correct way to do this!  |

My request for prayers/positive thoughts is for a young man, BJ.
He is a neighbor of some close friends. He is 18 years old and just lost his girl friend today to a rare melanoma. Wendy was only in her 20's. BJ is so young and so hurt now. Pray that BJ will find some comfort and peace.

Keyset this is a great thread, even if you don't believe in prayer, positive thoughts going out to people in need is a great thing. My thoughts and prayers are with your friends neighbors during this time. I hope everyone participates in this thread since there is so much positive energy from everyone here.!

From my friend, an update on BJ (see post #1 here):
"BJ is doing pretty well. Of course, it will take a long time if ever to completely get over it, but he is young and has a good support system from family and friends. He is also trying to work as much as he can. Staying busy helps."

I've asked y'all to pray/send positive waves for my friend Chai-rista and I when her brother died earlier this year, and when her daddy had to have heart surgery this fall. Please send tons more. Daddy is back in the hospital, his body is holding on to excess fluids and the doctors are not happy with his kidney function. I'm listening a lot to Marty (Hold ON) and trying to.

An update: My friend's dad continues to do well (as well as a 76-year-old with a damaged heart can do anyhow ) and all thank you for your prayers, and continued prayers and positive waves. A new request: Many of you know of Sid F'er from the Leper Pop blog (he was in the band, Leprosy, that Marty's older brother Steve was in). He has found out he has cancer and has posted two blogs about it. He doesn't have all the details about the treatment, but please keep him in prayer and send along some positive thoughts. Thanks! Greetings If you all could remember my ol' buddy from my last job Tamara, her sister who is a selfless nurse who cares for horses at her small ranch and disabled children at night was killed by a drunk driver at 3am as she came home from her last client.Tamara and her sister Kamisa are best friends and I know that this has to be ripping Tamara's heart out. I cannot imagine losing a sibling but have lost both parents and you never stop missing them in that special place reserved in your heart and mind. Jilly I'm so sorry to hear that terrible news....I will say my prayers. I can relate to this horrible tragedy as one of brothers was killed by a drunk driver as well...when he was 19. The pain is unbearable....and the anger intense. I am sorry for your sadness.

Thanks for the kindness for my friend. I know she will need all the Divine intervention she can get over these next days and weeks.
Suzy I am sorry about your brother, I cannot imagine the pain it leaves?? The "Why God?" and the grief has to be enormous. I am sorry for your loss too.

quick update about my friend Tamara
she is devistated as you can imagine, what is really painful is that this drunk driver was 3 times over the legal limit at 5 am and he only recieved scratches. Tamara will more than likely lose all her sisters horses and her sisters ranch since she cannot take care of it alone.

Sid posted to the Leper House message board today that his docs have told him to "bulk up" -- basically trying to get some weight on before he starts radiation and radiation/chemo. So I"m bumping this thread.

Jilly, I've just read your post and that is awful. I hope your friend finds a way to deal with this loss and I really wish there was something useful I could say besides the fact she'll be in my thoughts & prayers. Also Key, keeping the thoughts coming for Sid too. |

Positive waves and good thoughts especially today for Sid F'er please. He starts his chemotherapy today. Between the chemo, then chemo/radiation treatments, then getting all that out of his system, the final scan to see if all the cancer has been taken care of won't happen until next June. It's a long haul, and he and the Mrs. F'er will need loads of thoughts and prayers.
