Just remember that kids are not perfect.
They live in a different world than we grew up in. in this world everything is shown on t.v and nothing seems real.
Life and death are nothing...It's hard to understand. Kids don't have the structure that they need, in a world that says, "they must be compleletly free to fit into a mold" society creates for them.
Our job is not to change them...Our job is to give them the tools to make the right choices for themselves.
The pressure to fit in might be the kids main issue, or he might just be hurting and doesn't have any idea how to express the pain in a correct manner.
I will pray for you as a teacher...may God give you the strength , guidance and love to help this child find his true path in life. May blessing fall onto you for being a teacher for him and others that do not have that guidance. May you be blessed for being you.

We are getting Hammered here in Colorado with snow, pray that those who are stranded here will be safe and well. There are always those who think all they need is an SUV and when its this steady no vehicle will work. Its beautiful but deadly and it will last for maybe up to 3 more days!! Yikes
Thanks so much
Jilly

Here's a plea on behalf of a fellow Hammerhead! Go to www.chefs.com and vote for Genie's "Granny Hazel's Chocolate Creme Pie". You can vote five times per day. Genie's recipe has dropped out of the top 10 and is sitting at number 12...let's help her out! You want a fellow Hammerhead to win, don't you?!?!?!

Thanks for the prayers Star and Cheza, all the prayers sustained us for sure. It was wicked at one point be we were totally safe in our little apartment, we had the fireplace going and we got cozy. Most of it is gone now, its just melting brown mush pretty much. I suspect we will have a bad winter since winter just started. Jan., Feb. March usually are the worst when it comes to snow. You may get this request again soon Jilly

Pray for Suzy's friend who had a stroke yesterday. Thank you so much Cheza. She is going to be okay, thank God. She has a blood clot in the right side of her brain and doctors are trying to correct it with blood thinners. She has trouble with her memory which is to be expected. Thank you again...very thoughtful.

Suzy, I'm glad to hear that you have received good news. Those things are so scary. Our high school's head basketball coach had a major stroke a couple of years ago. He's probably about your friend's age and he has partial paralysis on one side and a speech impediment as a result. Needless to say, he retired from the court, but still comes out to see the guys play.
No need for thanks. You're welcome. Anything to help...

I'm reposting this from the New Year's Eve show thread (page 10 of the thread)
"Wanted to relay a note - many folks on all boards showed some great kindness to NancyBBE recently when she lost a sister to breast cancer; sorry to report that when she got home from the NYE show this evening she had a phone call that another sister died quite suddenly and unexpectedly this morning. No details known at this point but will probably mean that photos from her will be delayed for a while. Sorry to be downer right after such a great show/weekend but I thought I should let you know in case you don't hear from her for a little while. "
Please keep NancyBBE in prayers too.

Speaking of rough times, how are things going for you Cheza?
Today is Sid F'er's (Leper Pop) last chemo treatment before he starts the rounds of chemo/radiation. This prep chemo has been rough, but the next phase is going to be real h*** since the cancer is on the back of his tongue. Please, please send loads of positive waves his way for the weeks to come.
Thanks.

So far, so good. I have an eval Thursday that I'm very nervous about.
I must re-issue my request for prayers for Betz and Rachel. I just got an e-mail from Betz today saying that her vision is pretty much gone, but they're going to do surgery to save what they can. She will have to use drops on and off for the rest of her life. She FINALLY has got medicaid back, and is reapplying for disability (I DARE THEM TO DENY HER)...and is behind on her rent. Her ex-hubby's family is really good to her....her ex-sis-in-law and her family held Christmas and they decided not to buy for each other - instead they gave the money they would have spent to Betz to help her through this difficult time. Rachel is really having a hard time right now with all of this...they've called in a counselor to help them both.
Please keep them in your prayers as well as all of us who are (or know someone who is) battling a chronic disease.
