Cheza - hope your eval went well.
Starcrossed - thanks always for your words of prayer interspersed in these requests and updates. xo
Sid F'er checks into the hospital tomorrow for the third cycle of the chemo/rad treatments. If all goes well, he'll check out again on Friday - after he has had to endure ten treatments over the days he's there - to recoup at home for the next round. He needs a lot of prayers and thoughts to get him through all this pain and into complete healing and wholeness.

Well, Key, he stayed almost the whole hour, and I haven't gotten any feedback yet...so I don't know what to think. As Jilly said, I'm hoping no news is good news.

God please grant Sid an extra measure of strength and hope this week. Help his sense your peace.I ask too for Cheza that all her hard work will be rewarded with stability and confidence that she is where you want her. Bless those who are too broken to ask for help. Hold them close Lord. Thank you for our devoted friends and family who carry us with their love and support. Thank You for your never ending providence even when we can't see it or feel it. Its there.

Indeed, Amen.
jilly I especially liked your sentence "Bless those who are too broken to ask for help."
I've been praying a lot and using a phrase from some prayers at church back in December - "cast out fear and restore to health and wholeness."
I think I'll combine the two to say "Bless those who are too broken to ask for help. Cast out their fear and restore them to health and wholeness." Amen.

Its there. Jilly, thank you for your beautiful prayer. As for the eval, I asked him about it today. He said he'd be back in within a week or two for another one, and then he'd give me a form to grade myself and he'd compare it with the ones he has...then we'll talk. So pray as it looks like I have at least one more nerve-wracking month ahead. I think I was fine the other day, but I don't know what he thought. You never know with these things. I just have to trust that if I am where the Lord wants me to be that I will be invited back for next year. I must ask for prayer for a lady I know and her two children. Her ex-husband, who also is one of my former teachers, was charged with three counts of child porn Friday. He goes before the court on Feb. 22. The thing is they've taken almost a year (if not that) to actually charge him with anything, and now after all this has been settled down for months - it's all being dredged up again. His wife and kids don't deserve that. Due to the privacy of the matter I'd rather not name names here, but please keep them in your prayers. Thank you.

Cheza I have added them to my list. Sounds like a tough one for sure. But nothing is too hard for God

That is a tough one. However, with God anything is possible. They are in my prayers. God Bless you too Cheza, for caring about them.

Well, the one who was arrested girls in some ways was more of a dad to me than my real dad has ever been. It's just so sad, and I can't believe he was SO stupid.

Sometimes people don't make the right choices in life...I am sorry that he was one of those that made a bad choice. Time will tell what will happen. Sorry, Cheza.

True. There's another reason I'm concerned about him as well, but it's a very delicate situation.
I need prayers tomorrow girls. Today was straight from HELL. Toward the end of seventh hour I realized that someone has stolen a personal item of mine that meant something to me. I don't remember if I bought it or if someone gave it to me, but I've had it for years and I doubt I'll be able to replace it...at least not easily. It was a little decoration I had sitting on the bookcase. So far - in just this school year - I have had the following items stolen: two staplers, two hall passes, the little, numbered, red apples off my "Teacher's busy, please take a number" thing, and now this piece of framed art.
It breaks my heart. I don't know what joy they get out of taking things that speak of teachers. I'm just going to have to watch and see if it surfaces in someone else's room. One of the kids told me next year's bunch is worse when I was angry after I realized it was gone, and another urged me not to give up.
By the time eighth hour came in (which includes one of my prime suspects), I just sort of went off and told them that stealing my stuff wasn't going to make me quit. Yet to be perfectly honest, at this point, I just don't know what to do. I'm so tired of this. I love what I do, but I don't know if I can stand it here due to some of the kids.
Pray God will guide my steps over the next few months and show me what I'm supposed to do.

Um...Last night my Mom called and told me that my Dad has Diabetes. It is over 400. That is really bad. He went to the doctor for a pain on his side. They found out it was a hernia, and they were going to set a date for surgery. The blood tests results came back, and they found out that he has diabetes.
The doctors think it is a miricale that he has shown no signs of illness. They want him to get it under control, before they even think about doing the operation.
He is on medications and must test his blood sugar levels throughout the day.
My Dad is a proud man, and is not taking this news well. However, he is going to follow all the doctor's orders.
Just wanted to ask for prayers for my Dad...Thank you.

Wow Star that is rough. I had the same thing happen to my dad. He thought he had the flu and he went in for tests and his blood sugar levels were 990!! He was admitted later that day and then went into a coma for about a week. He too was stubborn and a proud ol Mexican. No one was going to make him give up his beans and tortillas!! He learned how to though , he had to eat in moderation. It is a hassel but doable. I will keep your pop in my prayers
Jilly
He will be okay :-)

Ditto to what Iwo said Star. Today's medicines our saving our lives and its great..I hope he can get a super Doc to help him. It was hard to learn to take shots for my dad but after a while it was old hat and he felt confident with it. I was also told that I had to be checked since it runs in the family , so I suspect he will want you to get too. Take care Jilly

Um. I'd like to ask for positive thoughts for my father. He has developed some pulmonary problems after a minor accident at our cabin, and needs to go through tests in a few weeks to determine just how bad it is. Both he and Mom have been convincing me that it's nothing serious, but I can't help being worried.
Starcrossed, I'll be keeping your father in my thoughts as well. I hope he comes out of it okay, managing diabetes is thankfully easier these days.
Cheza, got you covered here. Stay strong, okay?

Heli are you in close proximity to your dad? Can you go see him or is he far from where you live? Star I also wondered the same for you. Is your dad in So. Cal. It makes it so hard when they are out of sight to know for sure if it is going to be okay. You are both in my thoughts
