Is it starting to feel a lot like Christmas? Or are you in a bah-humbug mood?

Answering the questions in this survey sparked many childhood memories, which reminded me why I love Christmas.

As adults, we tend to focus on the complications the holiday brings, such as fighting customers for hot-selling toys or finding extra time in our busy lives to send holiday cards, decorate the house, shop, wrap presents and attend parties. Where are those elves when you need them?

This survey, however, takes a simpler approach, asking only about the things that matter such as: Do you hang mistletoe?

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Varies, as our family doesn't do a traditional meal for Christmas, but each year I look forward to my parents coffee cake (yes U, I said Coffee).

7. Favorite holiday memory from childhood: Waiting at the top of the stairs for my dad to make sure Santa was gone.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? WHAT YOU MEAN HE ISN'T REAL!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No, but I did as a child.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? A mixture of sentimental ornaments from throughout my life and my Disney dated ornaments I have collected for 13 years.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I love the snow in Martyville, but in real life Brrrrrrr to cold.

12. Can you ice skate? No, I couldn't stand the cold long enough to get my skates on.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I'm sure I've had many great gifts, but sadly none are standing out as one being better than another.

14. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you? My family and friends.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? I love just about any dessert.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? With Assorted Hallmark ornaments, Handmade decorations, glass icicles, and photograph ornaments of each person in our family and extended family.

1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? HATE eggnog--it's gross. Hot Chocolate for me but only if it is the real stuff...not some instant envelope crap.

5. When do you put your decorations up? See above. Although I do take my little granddaughters every first Sat of December to pick out the Christmas tree for their house. We always buy the real trees from a tree lot where the proceeds go the the local Boys and Girls club charity.

7. Favorite holiday memory from childhood: Going to my grandma's house where she had a big tree and it actually snowed one Christmas eve. We never see snow for Christmas...it has always been a fantasy thing for us Floridians...and that one year it did snow for Christmas.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? My older sister had a big mouth about everything---she spilled the beans when I was about 6. Pretty young.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Only if we have guests in the house that have this as part of their traditon.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? We always had a flotsam and jetsam of ornaments collected through out the years...many of them handmade by someone. The more odd stuff the better. Just a big old mish mash of stuff...nothing planned or coordinated in our household.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? Sitting inside watching it fall...it's beautiful. And then I go outside and like it for about the first 15-20 mins and then I am like...ok thats enough....make it go away.

12. Can you ice skate? No I have never tried. This is Florida...folks I think there might be an indoor skating rink in Montgomery AL about 3+ hours away...but that is the closest I know of.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? When I was 15 or 16, a very good friend of mine who was very sick and confined to the bed a lot that winter made these really cute stuffed clown ragdolls that she gave to her three best friends for Christmas presents. I got one and still have it to this day. It sits in my bedroom on top of my chest of drawers. I also still cherish a handmade quilt that my grandma gave to me one year for Christmas when my daughter was a baby. It is pink and has little girls faces on it.

14. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you? Getting in touch with family and old friends.... sending e-cards and calling and making goodies to deliver.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Pecan Fudge or Red Velvet Cake.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? We love to pile the whole family and who ever is visiting that year into the car/van and drive around looking at Christmas decorations. And the more absurd and over done...the better. We actually seek the really tacky ones out. And then we drive by several times real slow and laugh and laugh at some of the stuff people come up with. Of course we also enjoy the pretty ones... but the campy ones just amuse us so much

17. What tops your tree? When I did a tree at my house, we had an angel that lit up.

18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving? I love watching other folks open their gifts...the ones that you have carefully thought out and tried to get just want they want. When you hit a bullseye, you know it!

And Oh Holy Night is really pretty...when song by someone who can do it justice. And then there is the new MCLH Christmas song. It is fun!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? I have 2 trees one for me that is all crystal and pearl beads with crystal collectible decorations. The kids tree has all their homemade ornaments and pictures of the family along with fun ornaments.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Going to hear my Dad sing at Christmas in the Park in Winter Park. The city brings out the Tiffany stained glass windows from the museum and light them from behind so they glow. The Bach Choir sings with the orchestra and they light the giant tree. It's like an old fashion Christmas and it always gets me in the mood for the holidays.

7. Favorite holiday memory from childhood: The year my brother and I raced into my parents' room at 4am to scream, "DAD! DAD! There's a DOG in the house!" We learned years later that my dad had just gotten home at 3am from driving the dog home from my grandma's in the middle of a horrible blizzard. Oh, and the dog had peed on all the presents under the tree. Heee!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't remember...but I was pretty old. I was so oblivious as a kid.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Not anymore, but we used to get Christmas jammies when we were kids. My favorites were the matching Snoopy ones my two brothers and I got one year.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Well, my son won't let me put ornaments on the tree...he likes to play with them. So my poor tree is naked from about four feet on down - where he can reach.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I like a little snow around Christmas - the light, fluffy stuff. But I dread the whole winter-long slogging through pile after pile of filthy, slushy snow. Ugh.

12. Can you ice skate? Yep, but it's been awhile. I'm thinking about going skating at Milennium Park this winter.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? When I was about 6, I got a camper for my Weebles. Apparently, I opened it and screamed, "I NEEEEEEDED THIS!" It is now a family tradition to scream that at least once every year about some gift or another. What a bunch of smartasses my family members are.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? I make this chocolate cake that is rolled up and has a whipped cream and peppermint filling. Yummmmmmmm.

;D ;D ;D I love it! That's us too! Our parents insist on getting my sister and me "twin" gifts even though we are 11 years apart. It's always this huge deal and we have to make a grand production out of opening them at the same time. Well, a few years ago we got exercise bikes, yeah thanks. I ripped into mine before Sharon could, she saw it and screamed "A CLOTHS RACK! JUST WHAT WE NEEDED!" Then I got beamed with a wad of wrapping paper by my dad. Now we just fake ohh and awww. 7. Favorite holiday memory from childhood: Hmmm, my favourite holiday memory would probably have to be the year that we all tried to disguise our presents. Not only would we wrap them, but we'd put extra stuff in them to make them seem heavier, or add extra cardboard/wrapping paper to make the shape look really strange. It all started with my uncle one year when he bought my aunt a huge present and then wrapped a random piece of cardboard on top of it to distort the shape: no one could guess what it was...and it was very fun.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? When I was in Kindergarten...I had come home talking about Leprochauns or something and my mom told me that they weren't real and so I told her that my teacher told me they were and she wouldn't lie to me. I guess my mom felt guilty about lying to me about Santa because then she told me the truth about Santa Claus.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yup! I open several...mostly from one side of my family since we live farther away from them now.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Tons of lights, and tons of ornaments.
