To be honest I stopped making resolutions a few years back.... when I made one, it never lasted. Now I strive for personal growth and development everyday. It's a form of self improvement without the stress of breaking my resolution promise.

I love making resolutions!! I did learn a few years ago to not make Unrealistic ones though. I stopped saying I would lose 50 lbs in 2 months and pay off all my debts in 6 months . I changed it to 50 lbs in a year or however long it takes and paying off bills slowly but surely. This years example for me is to read some classics. I grew up watching TV way too much and I have seen the movies but never read like, Grapes of Wrath or East of Eden, or anything by the Bronte sisters. I want to read some Dickens or C.S. Lewis. I also have already started to purge my stuff with TOSS KEEP SELL or DONATE piles so that I am not over crowding my life. It think New Years day is like a fresh clean slate and a gift to Start Over... Happy New Years to you and all your dreams [/IMG] Jilly

One thing that was great about the show, was Marty's speech about New Year's Resolutions. He said most people don't keep theirs, so this year we shouldn't make any. He said we should: I think that is such a great name for the next CD!

Oooh...gotta love that quote. HY, you should post it in the thread for inspirational quotes!
I'm like Star. I don't make resolutions anymore - too many years of breaking them and I'm my worst critic when I do. I hope to continue losing some poundage this year (have lost 20 got about 40 or so more that I need to go), get organized, catch up on my reading and personal writing over summer break, and get back on track spiritually after stumbling off the path so to speak a bit back. So, if you want to call them resolutions, okay...but I refuse to. I choose personal goals...that way if I don't attain them right now...no biggie...just keep working on them.
However, if I had to make one resolution - it would be to find my way to a Hammers show somewhere, sometime, somehow and meet up with some of my fellow Hammerheads before 2008 arrives.

You know I don't think I've actually made a New Year's resolution.
Oh well, life is good and I'm turning 34 soon if I haven't done it no need to start now....LOL

Ok, I agree about resolutions being commonly known as something to break, but I meant resolutions in the spirit of the first few posters here...personal goals or revelations you've had which will affect your life in 2007. Marty's is an awesome one...(and IMO is actually a NY resolution ;D) Mine are: I will not let others rob me of joy. I will enjoy what I have. I will stop looking for what is not there, and see what is. My other philosophical thoughts/revelations relating to the holidays mostly.: Change is essential. Energy has limits. (physical and emotional) and I must: Redefine and prioritize my life to reflect the person I've become. I know I sound so serious today, I'm not...I'm just thinking.. Happy 2007 and let the party linger as long as you can!!
