I had to bring it here again since I monitor Greenpeace and support everybody who does the same - Thank you Rudd!!! "Australia, which is one of the strongest critics of Japanese whaling, last week sent the Oceanic Viking to the area to monitor the operation and gather evidence for a possible international legal case against the whalers." Thank you Den! for posting it! Wishing everybody a great weekend!!!

Dear Aussie fans, Hope I can get you to help us with the Rock Band All Star Vote this week. Please take time to Go vote for Marty. www.rockbandlounge.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6185And be sure to get your household voting to. If each of you had another 2 or so votes coming from your home, this will really help out. According to the rules at Rock Band Lounge, a household can have up to three votes from it without any problem. If you have more than three, that is ok too...you just have to declare that in the thread set up over at RBL to declare extra votes coming from one household. So at a minimum be sure to get a spouse/signif other/roommate and at least one other family member signed up and voting this week. Remember why we are doing this and why every vote matters: We are trying to get Marty to the finale and keep him in the competition so that we have more time to showcase his and the band's music. A whole lot of us discovered Marty on the show. And then we looked for his music, and discovered Lovehammers. That's also the goal of the game. To expose the band's music to new potential fans. It would be a shame for Marty to be eliminated this week, because next week is when we get to start posting a LH video. This is what we have been working so hard toward. The extra effort this week from all LH fans will be needed. Please register your household members to vote too. And ask other fans to do the same. Please and thank you so much!

Hiya Guitargirl its been ages since we had a chat, great to hear from you! Den I knew there was a reason I voted for Rudd! He's only been Prime Minister since November and he's already ratified the Kyoto Protocol and taken a big stand on the Whaling issue. Mitch wrote to the former Prime Minister for a school assignment once, here's what he wrote: Dear Mr. Howard
I am writing to express my view on the Japanese scientific whaling issue. While I support the government’s efforts to stop Japanese whaling, I think you need to take a stronger stand. The government needs to enforce its own law and put a stop to whaling in the Australian Whale Protection Zone in Australian Antarctic Waters. Taking the Japanese to international court for breaking Australian law will bring the issue under the scrutiny of the entire world and not just countries who are members of the International Whaling Commission. Japan has its own stocks of humpback whales but instead of harvesting theirs, they come to the southern ocean to kill whales for no plausible scientific reason. Instead, they have a multi million-dollar whale watching industry. The strong friendship Australia and Japan share should not get in the way of Australia conserving whale populations of the southern ocean. Take a stronger stand Mr Howard, friends with the Japanese or no whales left in the oceans…its your choice.
Yours faithfully Mitchell XXXXXI was so proud of the effort he put into it, cause he is Mitch after all and his teacher rewarded him with an A+ Cindy I've been recruiting as hard as I can, and now I have my sister recruiting too. We can do this, we are Hammerheads after all! Iwo Thanks again and my puppy is a minature fox terrier...and nearly 3 times the size she was when I posted that pic. Coooeeee Dawn, Helen, Star a bit more decorating... ps: its still raining here.

Hey guitargirl and jet, when is it going to stop raining? ....not that I'm complaining.... Anybody have a towel for Marty? We are all out of the paper towels....thanks to jet. It's snowing here. Just voted over at rockbandlounge.com for the artist to be eliminated this week. Vote for the person you want to see eliminated at this link: rockbandlounge.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6199It appears Toby is going to be safe. So far it looks as if it is going to be a battle between JD and Mig for elimination. I listened to all 3 performances for elimination. Toby doing Mr.Brightside was fun. He did a good job and put a huge smile on my face, reminding me of Marty's performance. Mig's performance was a very upbeat, crowd pleasing, We Will Rock You He is such a great guy. Then I watched JD's Come as You Are and all I wanted to do was kick his arse..... ....which if he gets eliminated and doesn't make the top 3, that would be saweeeeeeeeet. Edited to add: Just read Dawn's post on the rockbandlounge.com thread. I can see where voting JD out would mean retaliation from JD fans voting Marty for elimination. Hmmmm...... sure makes it interesting Well, I gotta go now and work on getting in shape for Hammerfest and HJ3. and no, jet it's too early for . I meant exercise Cheers all Den

Den I hope you're well - I just read your quote from me & had to read it several times before it made sense! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D At least I knew what I meant - I should really drink more coffee before posting! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D In my opinion, if JD is voted out, his fans will turn against Marty faster than I do if I hear the words "free beer" ;D ;D ;D Well, best get on with something - ignoring the boss seems to be taking top priority today! Huge hugs to everyone

I know i was so shocked by this as it had been on the news and in the newspapers for days ! Heath has touched many peoples hearts around the world in his life and he even had a 2 year old daughter he was only 28 ! thats too young to die There's an old saying guitargirl that only the good die young, and its all too often true. We certainly have lost a good guy and my heart aches and I can't imagine how heartbroken his family must be. At the same time life goes on and we keep breathing. There is a magnificent body of work Heath has left behind as a kind of legacy really, and I know his little girl will know him through her mum and Heath's family. Well girls, its that time of year again. Australia Day ...where has the time flown. This time last year I knew for certain that I would be in Chicago and getting to see LH Live and now its Dawn's turn...only 6 months to go Dawn!!! And we/Marty (its the same thing isn't it ;D) are through to the finale at Rockband. WOOHOO!!! Everyone has done an amazing job with the voting, and if you haven't all read the thread, Marty posted over there the other day. I have to say I love it at RBL. The girls are great...although my eyes bleed quite alot at some of the pics posted over there ;D ;D ;D Coooeee everyone and have a great weekend, catch up soon xxx J

G'day Maties, Happy Australia Day!
Got this list off the internet. I think the list missed a few ways but it's a start.
Cop-U-Later Den TODAY you'll probably want to party, celebrating all the things that make Aussie's unique. But how do you tell if you are a true Aussie? Here are 43 top ways to tell if you're a local.
You know you're Australian if …
1. You know the meaning of the word "girt".
2. You believe that stubbies can be either drunk or worn.
3. You think it's normal to have a leader called Kevin.
4. You waddle when you walk due to the 53 expired petrol discount vouchers stuffed in your wallet or purse.
5. You've made a bong out of your garden hose rather than use it for something illegal such as watering the garden.
6. You believe it is appropriate to put a rubber in your son's pencil case when he first attends school.
7. When you hear that an American "roots for his team" you wonder how often and with whom.
8. You understand that the phrase "a group of women wearing black thongs" refers to footwear and may be less alluring than it sounds.
9. You pronounce Melbourne as "Mel-bin".
10. You pronounce Penrith as "Pen-riff".
11. You believe the "l" in the word "Australia" is optional.
12. You can translate: "Dazza and Shazza played Acca Dacca on the way to Maccas."
13. You believe it makes perfect sense for a nation to decorate its highways with large fibreglass bananas, prawns and sheep.
14. You call your best friend "a total bastard" but someone you really, truly despise is just "a bit of a bastard".
15. You think "Woolloomooloo" is a perfectly reasonable name for a place.
16. You're secretly proud of our killer wildlife.
17. You believe it makes sense for a country to have a $1 coin that's twice as big as its $2 coin.
18. You understand that "Wagga Wagga" can be abbreviated to "Wagga" but "Woy Woy" can't be called "Woy".
19. You believe that cooked-down axlegrease makes a good breakfast spread.
20. You believe all famous Kiwis are actually Australian, until they stuff up, at which point they again become Kiwis.
21. Hamburger. Beetroot. Of course.
22. You know that certain words must, by law, be shouted out during any rendition of the Angels' song Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again.
23. You believe, as an article of faith, that the confectionary known as the Wagon Wheel has become smaller with every passing year.
24. You still don't get why the "Labor" in "Australian Labor Party" is not spelt with a "u".
25. You wear ugh boots outside the house.
26. You believe, as an article of faith, that every important discovery in the world was made by an Australian but then sold off to the Yanks for a pittance.
27. You believe that the more you shorten someone's name the more you like them.
28. Whatever your linguistic skills, you find yourself able to order takeaway fluently in every Asian language.
29. You understand that "excuse me" can sound rude, while "scuse me" is always polite.
30. You know what it's like to swallow a fly, on occasion via your nose.
31. You understand that "you" has a plural and that it's "youse".
32. You know it's not summer until the steering wheel is too hot to handle.
33. Your biggest family argument over the summer concerned the rules for beach cricket.
34. You shake your head in horror when companies try to market what they call "Anzac cookies".
35. You still think of Kylie as "that girl off Neighbours".
36. When returning home from overseas, you expect to be brutally strip-searched by Customs - just in case you're trying to sneak in fruit.
37. You believe the phrase "smart casual" refers to a pair of black tracky-daks, suitably laundered.
38. You understand that all train timetables are works of fiction.
39. When working on a bar, you understand male customers will feel the need to offer an excuse whenever they order low-alcohol beer.
40. You get choked up with emotion by the first verse of the national anthem and then have trouble remembering the second.
41. You find yourself ignorant of nearly all the facts deemed essential in the government's new test for migrants.
42. You know, whatever the tourist books say, that no one says "cobber".
43. And you will immediately forward this list to other Australians, here and overseas, realising that only they will understand.

Noice one Den, very noice **ouch hurts** ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Penriff ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I grew near Penriff and still go shopping there when I'm in Sydney. My footy team is the Penriff Panthers. Everyone from Penriff is a Westie and proud of it! Go hard the Westie bogans ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I have to admit I've also been guilty of shortening many a garden hose in my younger days. Kylie is the girl from neighbours, I love beetroot on my hamburgers, axlegrease on my toast and that bit of a bastard Kevin may soon become the old bastard Kev! As for the Angels Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again... No Way Get Off Catch youse later sheila's!
