Hi everyone,

Is a little quiet around here isn't it .

I finally have Marty's photos back from the photographer so thought I would post better sized pics for you to see.

This is Marty working out for the judge after winning his class and going for the championship.


This is him with his championship sash.


His next and last show for the season is the same day as Hammerfest, I think, March 14th. His coat still looks fabulous and I am hoping he does just as well.

I have my first surgery planned for mid April and am really looking forward to getting all these out of the way and getting my life back to some sort of normality. I can't tell you how excited I am that I found this specialist/surgeon, he is such a breath of fresh air. His optimism is wonderful and after each appointment I feel so much better. Mick met him Monday for the first time and really liked him as well.

Anyway, not much other news, hope you are all well, Jet & Dawn, not working too hard, Den, Michelle arrives in 3 days, she is so excited. The weather here is hot again even tho summer is officially over nobody has told the sun that.

Excellent news about your specialist! that's fantastic news. My mum was the same with her doctors, once she saw one who seemed to know what she was talking about, she started to do better. I wish you such luck with your surgeries & hope all goes well for you

I did make it back from NZ. Got back in last friday and had a fantastic time with the gorgeous Palari. We drank copious amounts of bourbon as expected, ate in many cafe's and saw the glorious city of Christchurch and its surrounds. The south island of NZ really is Middle Earth...totally brilliant!!!

I started my new job this week. I didn't actually do much work...it is a government job after all ;D ;D ;D I did the big induction thing and got the feel of the place and then spentthe next few days in the field wearing steel capped boots, a safety vest and hard hat. a set of plans to the new water mains and lots af strange stares at the new woman water engineer...too funny and so very cool, I love it!!! I also started study for my new degree I'm sure I will be fine, I'm sure I will be fine, I'm sure I will be fine... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'd love to catch up with you this week sometime, email me and see if we can catch up with each other.

Hi everyone,

Beautiful warm Autumn morning here in Melbourne, still cleaning up after that storm that went thru last week, we had 13 trees down at our place, the roof of one shed and our letter box blown apart, and lost power just like everyone else, but we were lucky compared to some who are still without power. All fences have now been fixed, none of the horses were injured luckily, as I know of 3 people who lost horses in the storm and many more were seriously injured. The roof is now back on the shed and we finally have some water in our dam!

Well, this thread has been quiet hasn’t it, I have had 3 busy weeks with my sister and 6 month old nephew, Samuel over from the UK. It has been wonderful to catch up with them. Unfortunately they have now gone home and it is very quiet here without them. We took Sam into a baby show at the local shopping centre as all the funds were going to charity and he won 3 trophies, Runner-up baby of show, Best eyes and Dream Baby. What a hoot that was, so much easier than showing my horses!!!!
Little Sam is such a delight and I am definitely NOT a baby person and don’t have a maternal bone in my body but Sam and I really got on well together and he just adored me which was great and I just loved him, he was wonderful, I really miss him now he has gone. Here is a pic of Sam and me.





Horses now on holiday unless I do a couple of the May shows which are for youngstock, weanlings and yearlings, so Marty could go, but if his coat gets too long and we will see how I feel, that will decide whether I go or not. They are more for fun and socializing and not big shows although some people take them very seriously.
Marty won his class at his last show, Royal Melbourne Show, it was a very good 1st place but he didn’t get the championship as he was up against the stallions and the judge liked the mature horses. The judge told me to bring him back when he ‘grew up’. Stupid thing to say really when Marty’s class was for yearling colts. Which means only one year olds can enter. Dickhead judge. But he was consistent, I watched him all day and every championship was one by the senior horse, so Marty was never going to win even tho he was the better horse. Here is a photo from the day, his coat was just magnificent, he got so many comments from spectators how wonderful he looked.
He has now been gelded, ouch!! He was such a naughty boy as a colt, very hard to handle, and I didn’t need anymore accidents. My vet said his testicles were twice the size of what they should’ve been for a horse of his size. No wonder he was naughty, all those raging hormones, in a month or so I should have a nice quiet gelding to show next season.




I have my surgery booked for April 29th, am really hoping it works to some degree, it is just the start of the nerve blocks, the surgeon says these ones won’t fully work but he has to start somewhere and these ones are always best to start with as they give then an idea to what degree of damage is done. I just can’t wait to get things started so I can be focused on the future and start making plans for 2008/9 and the rest of my life, because previously and at present everything has just been a day to day existence and it isn’t a fun way to live.

Den, yes, the lazy SAINTS lost to the Doggies on the weekend and they deserved to lose, they were pathetic after the first quarter. They will get thrashed this coming weekend if they play like that again as we play the reigning premiers this weekend, Geelong. Mick went as usual and he wasn’t very happy. Next week he will go with his mate Greg who barracks for Geelong.

American Idol, yes, we get it here in Oz.. We get it the day after you see it, I love Michael Johns, he is my fave along with David Cook.

Well, thats about it for me, I'm logging off before my computer freezes on me for the 4th time, it has taken me over an hour to do this post, arghhhhh

Helen, so good to see you and that the surgery will be soon. Little Marty is Beeeeeeeeeautiful and I dearly love little Sam's blue eyes. No wonder he won so many prizes.
