If you could be any horror movie monster, which one would you be? Michael Myers scared me too, but I've got to go with a possessed female...if she can count...Regan Teresa MacNeil from "The Exorcist".Why? Pictures from that movie give me nightmares. I don't even have to see the flick. Just an image of Regan...*shivers*[/b] Which horror movie scared you the most when you first saw it? Well, let's see. I never made it all the way through "The Exorcist" although I've watched much gorier fare overall. The Hellraiser flicks scare most of all, I suppose. I can watch Jason or Freddy without nightmares for the most part.[/b] Best part of Halloween? Creativity, costumes, candy and just the general fall vibe in a rural area *Can you guess I'm an indecisive sort?*. I never really take part due to allergies, but there are always a lot of hayrides around here during this time of year. Also there's a big pumpkin patch with a haunted forest and "Bubba's Butcher Barn" to scare the crap out of you nearby.
[/b] Would you ever spend the night in a haunted house? NO.Did you maybe think the Blair Witch project was real when you first saw it? I still haven't watched it all the way through, but I remember what a phenomenon it was. I knew it was fake by the time I tried to watch it.Favorite ghost story? There are too many to mention. I'll narrow it down to three.
I used to do a lot of theatrical work. At this one theatre in Taxegirl's hometown, a ghost named Charlie resides. Charlie likes to mess with the light techs, turn stuff on and off. One night a friend's hubby kept shutting the lights off and then walking back through the house to the exit (as is standard in most theatres I've been in) and they kept coming on...he and Charlie went back and forth a bit until finally he just said somit like "Cut it out, Charlie." while standing at the back of the house and the lights went off. Not scary...just sorta mildly creepy and amusing...
I used to perform in an old Vaudeville theatre in Paragould some. It's called the Collins. There were all these stories about how the ghost there was the old guy who used to run the projector when movies were shown there. They used to say he got mad at kids for necking in the balcony and cut off their heads and put them in the little windows in the projection room. Oddly enough, most people who "saw" the ghost referred to it as Juliet because it was always in the balcony. After we were telling a group of kids that story at a Children's Theatre Workshop rehearsal one summer all sorts of weird things started happening...besides the fact we all got chilled to the bone.
There's also a church in a rural area. People around here refer to it as "The Rising Church". At night the windows on it make it look a bit like the Amityville house and when you're driving toward it down the rural road it looks like the building is rising and falling due to the slight hills...hence the name. One night a friend and I drove out there around midnight after a play rehearsal just for the heck of it. Something came out from behind that church and chased us down the road. Needless to say, the accelerator was pushed to the floor.
There are several others in this area... Cry-baby bridge, the Senath Lights...like I said...too many to mention at length.
Favorite scary movie? John Carpenter's original "Halloween". I reserve the right to change that thought when I get to see Rob Zombie's version.Favorite Halloween treats? Nerds or Tootsie RollsFavorite Urban Myth? The one about the guy who wakes up in a bathtub of ice with a kidney missing or the girl who wakes up with all the spiders in her beehive. I know many will say the one about the guy with the hook, but due to personal reasons I hate that one. Personal reason being my grandfather was in a horrible accident when I was five and had to have both arms amputated. He had one prosthesis...and it was a hook.Favorite monster? Dracula. I have a thing for vampire stories...what can I say? *See Trinity Blood in OT Great Shows Thread under TV at mc.org*Favorite Halloween costume? Probably my devil outfit. I have a red and black wig that has flashing horns. One Halloween some joker told me that I had a message waiting and my so-called best friend said he didn't want to know where the button was to retrieve it. [/b] Lamest Halloween costume? Western Barbie when I was a kid.Ever egg anyone's house? Nope.Ever toilet paper anyone's house? Nope. Goody-two-shoes through and through. Tonight I'm guarding mine from my 100 students...I'm sure I'll have a bit of damage by morning. Maybe I should consider doing their houses!Ever walk through a cemetary at night? Yes.Ever bob for apples? No.Ever go on a hay ride? No, due to horrible allergies, not lack of wanting to .Ever play with a Ouiji board? No. They freak me out!Ever go out to scare people on Halloween? Sometimes.Ever eat all the candy you bought before you give it out? No.Ever afraid of the dark? Yes...and the things that go bump in the night. Ever think that monsters were in your closet? Didn't everyone think that when they were a kid? They were either in the closet or under the bed.[/b] Every think that something lived under your bed? See above.Elvira. Yay or nay? Yay.Haunted houses. Yay or nay? Yay if I'm working it...nay if someone expects me to just go through one. The Monster Mash. Yay or nay? Yay.Decorating front yard with Halloween stuff? Yay or nay? Nay, right now...maybe yay in the future when the yard is fixed up.Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin. Yay or nay? Yay...longtime Peanuts fan here. I just can't dis the pumpkin. It used to be a joke (i.e. theory) between my friends and I that each person on the planet is one of the characters from Peanuts when you boil down his or her personality. In our group we had a Peppermint Patty, a Charlie Brown, a Linus, a Schroeder, a Lucy, two Snoopies, and a Little Red Haired Girl...oh, and a Pigpen.Stephen King. Yay or nay? Yay.Bad horror movies. Yay or nay? Yay. Sometimes a little cheese is fun.Frankenstein, Dracula or Wolfman. Dracula.Vampires or Wearwolves? Vampires everytime, baby.Swamp Thing or Creature from The Black Lagoon? Creature from the Black LagoonPumpkin carving or pumpkin picking? Pumpkin carvingZombies or ghosts? ZombiesHeadless Horseman or Van Heilsing? Headless Horseman When there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call? Of course, you're gonna call The Ghostbusters. My students LOVE that movie.
