Hey everyone. I'm a newbie as far as posts go, but have really enjoyed this website and reading all of the adventures on the tour so far -- keep 'em coming.
I was at last night's show in Lincoln City and the Lovehammers ROCKED!
The show started on time and plenty of Hammerheads were up and rocking out, but quite a few people were in their seats -- obviously there for INXS, but I too (as others have posted) think it will get better once the new album is released and everyone gets to know the songs.
Anyway, Marty is an amazing performer and the rest of the band tore up the place! WOW. He was a bit restricted by the venue (not many things to climb on) but he did what he could and I could not have asked for more -- except more songs, more time, etc.
I did stay for the INXS set and being a long time fan enjoyed the oldies, but wasn't sure about most of the new songs -- except Pretty Vegas which I have to admit is pretty catchy. Someone posted earlier that if they closed their eyes they were okay -- I would have to agree with that. JD and his performance style don't quite do it for me --but I'm sure others enjoyed him -- to each his own. But they did do "Never Tear Us Apart" for one of the 3 encore numbers and I was in heaven! JD even kept it in check for this one so I was glad.
After INXS performed, I happened to catch the Lovehammers standing in the lobby of the casino, and talked to them all for a minute or five and had them sign my MOMM CD. Yea!
The guys were all beautiful as many of you have reported and down to earth -- totally cool. They said they were freezing (that darned rainy coastal air) and Marty thanked me for coming and said my MOMM CD was "Cool, Old School". He also stole my silver sharpie-- which I of course didn't mind.
No pics as I was scared off by the warnings here, but some people were taking pics inside both with digital and cell phones.
If I think of anything else I will post it here. If you get a chance to see them GO!
Edited to remove a smidgen of negativity --hope no one was offended...
