Yes..I for one am still trying to recover! They didn't do a meet & greet. There were alot of fans hanging out around the bus after the whole show let out. I did not stay for that. I think lhcrazy did though. So she will have to fill you in on those details.
Playlist was the same as the other ones posted here. The Midland theater is like an old movie house theatre with one receding balcony and one top balcony. Beautiful theater.
Marty took advantage of the balcony and ran all the way up the aisle (right by me) and up to the balcony and sang a good part of a song. Then ran back to the stage and finished it. Totally exhausted!!!
LH's totally blew INXS off the stage. Maybe that sounds abit unkind, but I noticed that a good 100 people or so, walked out of the theatre right after "Taste It" to have a smoke. Many didn't return.
I really hope to see the LH's headline next time. 45 minutes is a pretty good deal for an opening band. But 45 minutes was not enough for them. The crowd (from what I could tell) really got into them.
Sorry not more to report, but it sounds like it basically was the same show evryone else reveiwed here.
Now lhcrazy may have some good stories to tell!!!!
***edited to add: I just read nlt's review of the show. OK..I should have stayed around after the show. She got a great pix of her & Marty. nlt is such a cutie as you'll see in her new avatar (I am jealous!!!). LHcray & her daughter were a blast to be around too.
Def made some new friends.

They said that the venue was too small, so they couldn't do it. I about panicked, because my friend and I have been trying to get LH here for years, and we thought we wouldn't be able to hang out with them and couldn't get ahold of Dino. Fortunately, about 2 songs into the INXS set, Dino and Jeremy came to find us. I was surprised that there weren't more LH fans milling around waiting for them...just a group of women that left with a security guard about a minute before Dino came to the lobby! I'm very disappointed in our crowd, and the guys weren't very thrilled either. I think the Midland is a very bad place to see a rock show, but then again, INXS isn't a very rocking band. I'm anxious to see them here again one day, but hopefully it will be somewhere with a better atmosphere and without any INXS-like connections.

Marty & the Lovehammers ROCKED KC!!!!! That was one of the BEST performances I've ever seen and I have seen some awesome acts in my day!!! The band were tight - tighter than INXS - and their talents blew me away! I haven't pogo-ed like that in years and I'm SOOOO going to pay for it tomorrow! hahaha!
My highlight other than the entire MC & LH set was catching one of the Kourelis bros (the bassist - sorry! Don't know which one is which!) in the theatre when INXS came onstage. I told him they were great, then quickly let him pass so he wouldn't think I was a psycho knife-wielding maniac!
Anyway, BRILLIANT SHOW!!! Catch these guys when you can!

Hey everyone!!
Sorry its taken me so long but I'm back!!
Well the Kansas City show was amazing!! We managed to get seats two rows back from the stage!! It was awesome. The guys had so much energy and The crowd was awesome! Especially when Marty took off for the Balcony!! It was so much fun. I convinced a couple of people to go buy the LH CD which was cool. At the end Bobby made sure I got a drum stick! How awesome is he!!! INXS was awesome JD well we all know how much he loves his microphone. After the show a bunch of people kept asking me if I was related to Dino... I thought it was funny... We went out by the buses after the show and Bobby came up to make sure I got both pieces of the drum stick and ran back to the bus... He came out again and so did Dino and Billy. I got to talk to Dino for a long time it was awesome! I told him people thought we were related.. He thought that was funny and started telling people we were... It was awesome I got a great big hug from him at the end! Anyways Marty came out and he just looked way to tired. I didn't get to talk to him but that was OK I got to talk to him when we ran into them at starbucks...Overall it was an awesome night!! I love meeting all the other hammerheads!! And Dino said after Vegas they are headed to LA to shoot a music video!! I think thats why they aren't doing SWXW anymore...just a thought though. OH Ted Came out acting like a crazed JD fan it was too funny! nice to see he is a person ha ha! Got to love the TED!
I cant wait till they come back I don't know what I will do until then!!

Sorry this is late but I just now finally got the time to do this.
Disappointment in Kansas City!!!
The disappointment part has nothing to do with the Lovehammers, so you will have to read on to find out why I say that.
We arrived outside the venue at about 6:30, the doors didn’t open until 7 so my wife and I just hung out and I saw a couple of people wearing Lovehammers t-shirts. Didn’t see anyone handing out anything to the people standing outside so we just hung out. I told my wife as soon as we get in there I need to get my LH shirt. I did just that and immediately put it on. We upgraded our seats to from row N to CC, which was essentially the 3rd row after the three they had set up in the “pit”. The seats were awesome and I couldn’t wait for the show to start. As I was standing there a lady I had seen outside and obvious hammerhead came up to me and we talked for a while about the LH. She gave me some pens, buttons and a photo of the band for my daughter. She was awesome and made me feel like one of the LH family. Her and who I assume was her daughter were all over the place handing out everything they had. Unfortunately I never did get her name so whomever you are THANK YOU!!
The couple sitting behind me asked who the LH were and I just kind of looked at them and said well that’s the band that Marty Casey is the lead singer for. Their reply was we have never heard anything by them. I about feel on the floor but my wife took over and said that they need to go buy the CD and that it was the first in a long time that you can put in and listen to every song over and over. There didn’t seem to be a lot of people in the place when the LH came on stage but by that point I was checking my watch every minute or so just waiting for 8pm. They hit the stage and it was amazing. The play list seemed to be the same as the other shows with Ring of Fire thrown in there. During The Tunnel Marty took off down the aisle next to me and out the doors and ended up in the upper balcony which was I’m sure very much appreciated the everyone sitting up there.
We got lucky and had four girls who took the empty seats in front of us during the LH set and they where the ONLY ones directly around me that also knew every lyric of every song and were rockin out like I was. The two people behind me, the two beside me and the lady next to my wife just kept staring at me while the LH played. I was having a good time and nothing could stop me from enjoying my time with the LH. After their set ended the couple behind us asked if they could look at one of the CD’s that my wife had brought in hopes of getting signed. Before INXS started the lady had went to the lobby and bought one herself.
I have been to a lot of concerts in my time and sometimes a group is just not as good in concert as they are on the CD. The LH are not one of those bands, they were just as good if not better live then on the CD. Dino, Bobby and Billy are all awesome and amazing to listen to. Marty has a commanding presence on the stage and he makes you feel that he is up there because he enjoys it and because he wants you to enjoy the experience of their music as well. It has been a VERY long time since I have been so impressed with a band, so excited to see them in concert, unable to listed to anything else and more importantly never have I ever wanted to support a band so much and do anything I can to help them succeed then with the LH.
I had seen INXS about 4 other times with the original members and I will continue to be a fan of INXS. It was great to see them playing together once again even though it was without Michael. J.D. did great on the songs from the Switch album but lakes the stage presence that other lead singers have. Compared to Marty and many others I just wasn’t able to see the charisma on stage with J.D. And J.D., exactly how many licks does it take to get to the center of a microphone stand? Even my wife thought he had sex with the mic stand for a little too long. And yes J.D. I do know that people slip up from time to time but when you are new in a very popular band and need to make an impression please get the lyrics right. If you were there then you should know that he sang the wrongs lyrics towards the end of Mystify he sang “all veils and misty” again where he shouldn’t have. He had his back turned to the audience but was angled enough that we could see him grimace when he did it. Needless to say the older INXS songs left a little to be desired. But still a good job considering the “afterglow” that J.D. is in.
So why did I say the Disappointment in Kansas City? My disappointment really came from some of the fans at the concert. Now I could tell who the LH fans where and I could clearly see where they were. They were the ones that knew the lyrics and that were on their feet the entire time, not just when Trees was performed. The majority of those in KC that where at the concert probably watched Rockstar INXS but apparently they didn’t pay much attention when they announce that they wanted Marty and his band to open for them on tour or pay attention to the fact that Marty Casey and Lovehammers were the opening act (of course we all know that INXS was the closing act). I guess I was just disappointed that more people that were fans of the show didn’t bother to find out who the LH or “Marty Casey & Lovehammers” were. So how do I handle this and make KC a LH city, I get the word out however I need to and I started as soon as the concert was over. Outside after the concert there was a guy talking to a couple of his friends and I overhear him saying Marty was much better on his own. I turn around and say what do you mean and am told Marty is better on his own like he was on the show. I ask the guy if he had ever heard a LH song other than Trees before tonight and he says no. I then tell him that he really doesn’t have all the information to be saying that if he is just basing it on the concert and hand him one of the CD’s I brought to get signed. I tell him to take it and I guarantee that he will be hooked after the first few songs. He just looks at me and I said don’t worry about it I’m a proud Hammerhead and I’ll just go buy another copy myself.
Marty, Billy, Dino and Bobby, thanks for a great night of great music and I hope you decide to come back to KC on your own. I guarantee we can make KC a LH city and fill the place up with more fans than you can handle.
SPREAD THE LOVE!!!

Posted by Michelle I saw the show on Wednesday night from the 6th row and it was amazing! I too was a little disappointed in the crowd - but I think after their performance, many more people will become fans and buy their CDs.
I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face for the last 4 days and since the show I have been obsessively checking this website and the lovehammers website to see when I can catch them in concert again!

Hey everyone in KC, sorry it's taken me so long to post, but I went out of town the day after the concert. I thought the show rocked and we went out to the bus while INXS was playing and Marty came out and talked to us for about 20 minutes!! We all got hugs and photos with him, he was awesome!! It was like our own private meeting, no one else was out there!!! He told us they wanted to do a meet and greet in the lobby, but security wouldn't let them. Anyway, can't wait for the video of Trees and hopefully we will all go to the Hammerfest in Chicago to show our love!!!!!!!!

Posted by nltHere's my review, events, etc for the KC show: If you haven't read up on my story for the White Pants Chix Club, you'll probably want to check that out first, it's under Marty. Otherwise, I'm just going to jump in after the mechanical failures, picture selection and almost getting in a car wreck. So my husband and I finally leave and we are of course running late b/c he wants to get something to eat (damn hunger pains). I'm too nervous and excited to eat of course. I call Avalon to let her know we are running 15 min late or so and she said she was too. Okay, we get downtown and of course construction has the road I want blocked off and the one way streets are pissing me off. We get to the parking garage across the street and Avalon calls. She says the guys are around the corner, they had to stop an ATM (too funny) and she didn't want to go up there by herself. I tell her I'm just across the street and I'll be there. I find Avalon, an absolute doll!, and we run into lhcrazy and her daughter, more dolls!. We head over to the buses and they are no where to be seen. Avalon and lhcrazy talk to a roadie, Randy and give him some stuff for the band. So we move on since it doesn't look like we will be having any luck seeing them. Lhcrazy had asked my hubby and I if we need better seats, she got ones even closer and offered us hers. What a sweetheart!!! We were going to be stuck up in the balcony (which wouldn't have been a complete waste, more on that later). This has totally made my night getting to be up close now, we were going to be so close now! We get seated and I see some Sisters, say HI, acknowledge their garters and now I'm just waiting w/ anticipation. Avalon starts to wave me down, she's just across from us on the other side. I go to her and we walk up to the sound board. She starts talking to Brian?, and asks about a meet and greet. He says nope, no meet and greet, security doesn't want to stay overtime since it takes so long. I'm about to panic when Avalon starts to work her charm and magic and Brian says to meet him back there at the sound board when the shows are over, he'll see what he can do. I am in awe of this woman! Supposedly there was going to be a small meet and greet. I'm ecstatic, tell my husband and am just bouncing out of my chair practically when the sirens start. Then the pounding starts and Bobby is making my heart pound out of my chest. This man is amazing! I loved the way Marty slinked onto the stage, what a captivating performer he is. All the usual comments on their concerts apply here. Billy was on fire, Dino was Dino, Bobby looks like animal when playing those drums-arms everywhere and hair going crazy, I loved it! And what more can I say about Marty that hasn't already been said, AMAZING! The one thing that amazed me was how much his blue eyes really stuck out when he was up there. I don't have the set list, but lhcrazy's daughter got it, so maybe she can post. Nothing prepares you enough for a live performance from these guys. And thanks to that fact, my husband is finally on board and slowly becoming a fan in his own right. Marty did take off running down the aisle and out the back door while singing The Tunnel, we could hear but couldn't see him and then poof he appears at the top of the balcony. It was so awesome! A marathon as he called it. I just can't imagine the looks on peoples faces in the lobby as he ran by! Unfortunately, it was all over way too soon for me. I am disappointed in my town of KC though, I don't think they showed enough love for the guys and there were too many people sitting! I stood the whole time, singing, yelling, etc and there were groups of people around that would just not get up! I think for future shows, I'll go somewhere else to enjoy it w/ more LH fans. I'll leave out the INXS show, I'll just say the "band" sounded like they always did, great! Well, during INXS I came out just to see if LH might be milling about, but didn't hear anything or see anything. Guess I missed it when they came out the 1st time after their set. Went back in and sat for the rest of INXS and then met up w/ everyone by the soundboard waiting for Brian. No Brian, No Brian and I'm starting to lose any hope of meeting the guys. I'm starting to really feel like this is always my luck, get a glimmer of hope and have it shot down! They make us leave the theater, they are kicking us out and I'm just devistated! But then.... Gotta take a breather, getting long winded. We end up going w/ lhcrazy and daughter around the venue towards the buses. After a little while, I see Bobby coming up between the buses and someone starts yelling Dino. I'm like, NO, that's BOBBY!!! He comes over for a few secs, talks to my fellow mc.orger's and then leaves. I of course stand there and say nothing like an idiot! I'm getting worried, but lhcrazy told me just to wait it out, they will come back out. So we wait and finally Dino comes out. He's talking to the mc.org people and I'm just dumb strucked. Can't find a word to say, don't want to be pushy, even though everyone else was (some rude people). I see Billy come out and he's kind of hanging behind Dino so I go over and get his signature, super nice guy and my husband and him chat for a couple of secs. I finally get back to Dino and again, can't say a word. Finally get out that I want him to sign my cd insert and then at that point, I may as well have chewed off my own tongue b/c it would have made more sense than what I was saying. I felt like a total idiot and pretty much bailed after that, besides others were trying to get to him and they were making more sense. Bobby is being surrounded and I'm pushed to the back, again! Then enters the part from my the other section about my spotting Marty and then being trampled on. So while I'm waiting for my chance w/ Marty, I notice everyone kinda bailed on Bobby and he's right there behind me, so I ask for his sig. He's signing and I'm thinking, say something you fool!, but nothing. He must have noticed b/c he looked up w/ those adoreable eyes and that boyish smile and asked how i was doing. He was so sweet, he was trying to get me to calm down and talk to him for a sec while I could. I told him it was my first show and i was just blown away, speechless really. So then I end up back towards the Marty Party going on. Insert more of the other blog here from WPCC. After the whole White Pants Chix Club thing, I kinda blank out. I ask him for my pic and he does so. I noticed that he was very hard to hear, like he was losing his voice and he seemed so tired. But he perks up great for his pics and puts on his best smile. When we took the pic, I tried my best to soak it in, but all I could focus on was that I was touching MC's coat. My husband and him talked, shook hands, he was very polite and couldn't have been more accomodating. I'm just glad that w/ all the hassle to get to him I did b/c shortly after my pic w/ him he went back to the bus. The guys seem really tired and homesick. Oh, I fogot, when I was waiting for Marty, Bobby was right behind me, again! and said something to catch my attention. Of course I turn to respond and he is right there. Again had a talking issue, someone helped me out b/c I couldn't think of the word "headliner", so thank you whoever you were! And we chat for awhile about coming back to KC, told him sorry there weren't enough LH fans here and that I hope to see them again soon. He said they'd be back and some other things that I don't think I should put in case it would be spun as negative by some. I'll just keep that to myself, but I was really shocked at how honest and open he was. He did mention shooting another video, but wasn't sure when and where. I told him they really need to get one out to the rest of the public, he of course agreed and again, more comments that I better not post, don't want to get in trouble. So that pretty much sums it up. I didn't get as many pics as I wanted, but I had an incredible time. Also, we did see Ted, it wasn't the mean personality last night, more like a little hyper Ted personality. Thanks to Avalon, lhcrazy and daughter, we had a blast and I'm so glad we got to meet you! My husband and I were really impressed to see a mom and daughter have this great thing in common and to share with each other. Just shows how great these guys really are! Now my w/drawals have started and I am pining for another show......HELP!!!!!!!!!!
