Does anyone know the meanings to their songs? A lot of them hint at the usual sex, drugs and rock and roll mantra...Just curious to see what you guys interpret them as.

MOMM is all about Marty's breakup I'm guessing. Poor baby...makes you want to wrap yourself around him and say ..."It'll be alright"  ;D

I have to agree with sunnyt...I think MOMM is all about his break-up. I love the lyrics to all the songs and I especially like it in the Tunnel when he says "the distance has been like murder on my mind". Never quite heard it put like that before.

If you manage to get ahold of a copy of the DVD Live/Raw, there is a section where they are doing an acoustic type show and he explains before each song what each song is about. Very interesting!

To me, the lyrics all seem to be about a long-term relationship that had a lot of ups and downs, a lot of passion, and a lot of heartbreak...and they hint at the relationship not quite being over, but the songs are from a couple of years ago. They're sad lyrics, really. What a great album, though!

The songs seem to be all about a relationship that didn't last. Sounds like there were some strong feelings. Whoever he's writing about apparently wanted him to think about doing something else besides his music. Maybe thought if he hadn't become a rock star yet, he probably never would. She's got to be kicking herself right about now. If I were her, i'd crawl back and beg forgiveness.

She didn't love him anyway if she wanted him to stop something that meant so much to him. She had her chance and she blew it ! I'll bet if Marty is as together as he seems he wouldn't have her now!!

I know I keep talking about sleeper, but I fell for that song and then when the meaning of it (to me) really hit me, I cried through it and I didn't want to listen to it any more.
