A few things I learned, (and these may all very well be redundant) but here are a few rookie STer's random thoughts...
Allow plenty of time to get to the venue prior to the concert. We got hung up at the restaurant for dinner prior to Bon Jovi at the Anaheim Pond Sat. night and actually missed the opening act. I told polarfan, 4reeds, kimberly1987 (who were there to ST only - how cool...) and my daughters that I felt like an "INXS fan" sitting there at dinner and not particularly caring about missing the opening act. (In reality we didn't have a lot of choice in the matter at that point...but we had fun anyhoo. Like minds sharing the MartyLovehammerLove and all.)
Polarfan did a great job in getting us together - I think a good coordinator is key. I nominate polarfan for Inland SoCal coordinator. Also the more ST'ers that show up, the better - expecially for a big venue like the Pond, which seats between 17,000-19,000 people. We were spread a wee bit thin.
Everyone brought a different handout and that was neat, so you could tailor your STing to whatever presented itself. Due to the fact that we were late getting into the concert, most everyone was already inside the Pond, but we were able to share some love with the KLOS and JACKFM vans and I felt that was a good contact. It showed the local rock stations that people who went to the big concerts also had an interest in helping out "new" bands. Maybe - JMHO.
Anyway...it was a good first attempt at a venue other than an INXS/LH concert and it was a fun place to start. Lessons learned as they say...
