Since it's snowing... ... What's your favorite holiday movie? What movie really makes it Christmas for you? Which movie do you have to watch every December or else it's just not the holidays yet?

This isn't exactly a holiday movie, but my husband and I watch When Harry Met Sally every Christmas. It's a classic we never tire of seeing. How awful, I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life, but that is my goal for this Christmas.

I don't generally watch Christmas movies (I am such a scrooge). I do like A Christmas Story. Last year, we actually had Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant with my in-laws. It was so funny!

It wouldn't be Christmas without watching "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. The comic relief everyone needs around the holidays ;D.

You know, I've never seen White Christmas. It's hard to believe because that's my favorite era of movies.
I love just about every Christmas movie. It's hard to pick a favorite. While I'm thinking about it, I don't think the kids have seen "It's A Wonderful Life." We'll have to watch that this year.

Hi Besides the usual Frosty and Rudolph etc. we watch A Christmas Carol, with Alastair Sims (has to be the black and white version) every Christmas Eve. A tradition brought from my husbands family. We have now been watching it for 25 years in our house. Also, A Christmas Story is a favourite. One of the music stores here in Toronto is actually selling the leg lamp and a leg lamp night light which one of my sons has bought for my husband for Christmas. Should be good for a laugh Christmas morning.

Thank you Yerba.... of course Die Hard. I am a huge Bruce Willis fan. I run the definitive fan site for the 80's TV series Moonlighting... and before there was Marty Casey...there was Moonlighting that took up all my extra online time. And yes, I have met Bruce Willis and he is really a nice nice guy. Not brash and loud like one might think.
Die Hard is considered by many in the film industry to be the finest action-adventure film ever made. It is classic and great film to watch on Christmas Eve.

Ok, I've gotta ask, has anyone ever watched Emmit Otters and the Jug Band's Christmas? I watched this every year growing up, and after I got married I was browsing in a movie store and found the VHS of it and was estactic. I bought it and rushed home to watched it with my husband, and I think that was his first indication that I was nuts. Ya know there not always what you remember, but it does hold a little place in my heart. PS. My kids won't sit through it either.

Can't say that I have EVER heard of that one. So is it animated? Speaking of bad choices for Christmas movies.... one year about 10 years ago the guy I was dating at the time was told to go to the video rental store and pick up several movies that we could watch on Christmas Eve. Well, he came back with Faces of Death parts I & II. Remember these awful films... supposedly scenes of real people really dying in all kinds of awful ways. Just plain gruesome. I refused to watch them with him. Can you imagine a WORST choice to watch on Christmas Eve??!

Gosh, I love that movie. Wonder if I can find the book...*EEEKS* Faces of Death, eh? Not how I'd want to spend my Christmas Eve! Two of my buddies from a theatre group I used to be in were obsessed with those films. They loved to do gore makeup jobs. I about fell off my stool the other day in class when one of my SOPHOMORES referenced them...I guess they're some sort of cult classic now.

As for my other fave Christmas movies...besides Emmit ... I'd have to say: "A Christmas Story" along (I got an ornament with the flag pole sequence on it this year, last year I got the leg lamp ornament in its crate and the ornament of Ralphie's little brother who can't put his arms down - each one recites lines from the movie)...I couldn't help but giggle at W-M the other night when I noticed a lady had a Red Ryder BB Gun in her cart . "A Charlie Brown Christmas"...Linus' speech still gets me every time! Not to mention that sad little tree! "White Christmas" is another great one...and I can't forget "Meet Me In St. Louis" either.
