Ok, I've gotta ask, has anyone ever watched Emmit Otters and the Jug Band's Christmas? I watched this every year growing up, and after I got married I was browsing in a movie store and found the VHS of it and was estactic. I bought it and rushed home to watched it with my husband, and I think that was his first indication that I was nuts. Ya know there not always what you remember, but it does hold a little place in my heart. PS. My kids won't sit through it either. Oh my gosh!!! YESSSS!!!! I LOVE EMMIT OTTER!!! I even still have the book of that story from when I was a kid!!! You just reminded me that I picked that up on DVD last year around Christmas. I need to pull it out next week! Thank goddness, I was begining to think I was the only person who ever watched it. Cindy, yes Cheza is right it was a Jim Henson show. No one ever seems to remember it, but it was cute. I can't believe you watched faces of death on Christmas eve. Thats almost as bad as having to watch Barney Christmas video over and over and over again. ;D ;D ;D

I love Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas!! Jim Henson was such a genius.
It's a rare thing when I find someone who actually remembers that movie. Yay!

I know what you mean by no one remembering the movie, I was hesitant to ask because everyone was going with all the classics.

Thank you Yerba.... of course Die Hard. I am a huge Bruce Willis fan. I run the definitive fan site for the 80's TV series Moonlighting... and before there was Marty Casey...there was Moonlighting that took up all my extra online time. And yes, I have met Bruce Willis and he is really a nice nice guy. Not brash and loud like one might think. Die Hard is considered by many in the film industry to be the finest action-adventure film ever made. It is classic and great film to watch on Christmas Eve. You sometimes forget that it was set on Christmas Eve. I like to watch this one, too, but not usually on Christmas Eve! My favorite holiday movies are: White Christmas Holiday Inn Miracle on 34th St. (the Edmund Gwenn version) A Charlie Brown Christmas I used to like It's a Wonderful Life, but got so overloaded with it that I stopped watching. I may have to watch it one more time this year, though!

Okay, I just saw Elf for the first time this past weekend. I was all prepared to hate it (I am not a Will Ferrell fan) but I thought it was really cute. And now I can't stop singing "Baby It's Cold Outside." EEEEK, Cindy! Faces of Death is what he picked for Christmas?? Now I know not to send Fu out to the video store on Christmas Eve.

Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas...lol...I whined really loud (ask anybody!) when it went off HBO because I took it for granted and then couldn't find it anywhere. I now have it on both VHS and DVD just in case." I snuck over to my friend Cindy's last weekend and watched it 'cause I knew no one would watch it with me at my house! Wow, and now there are sisters here!!! Others that were traditional for our family to watch every year: 1. Home Alone 2. Lethal Weapon 3. Christmas Vacation I also love to watch Muppet's Christmas Carol with a fire going and sipping some apricot brandy on the rocks, while wrapping presents...

Hmmm...my favourite holiday movie would have to be The Year Without a Santa Claus...I absolutely adore that movie and have since I was little. I know all the songs(however pathetic that may sound) by heart. Such a fun movie! Rudolph is a close second though!

It wouldn't be Christmas without watching "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. The comic relief everyone needs around the holidays ;D. I totally agree!

Just wanted to say that if you have the Emmit Otter DVD and have not watched the blooper reel...you must...OMG I laughed so hard...btw that's Frank Oz's take on Ma Otter in those cuts instead of the lady who voiced her in the final product...the bulk of the bloopers deal with the drum at the music store. I loved the documentary too...who knew Henson himself was the snake in the Riverbottom Nightmare Band!?!?
