Is anyone going to be watching? I TiVo'd it last night, but haven't yet sat down to watch it.

As you know I am not really a fan of much reality TV. I only learned to love The Amazing Race and Big Brother at your urging to watch. Therefore, because by and large I usually do not like Reality TV, my opinion may not count for much.
So I watched KidNation. And I will watch a couple of more episodes to see if it doesn't improve. But last night didn't really impress me much. I don't think I was very entertained. And some of the kids are annoying. I did not find any of the kids yet that I want to root for.
I also have a beef with some of the adult interference that takes place. For starters, using that structure that the society is broken into a class structure. That class system is right out of Plato's The Republic. After centuries of civilization, surely we have evolved toward more equality. I think a better approach would have been trying to match up individual talents/skills with needed tasks and treat everyone with more equality. Looks like the New Bonanza City isn't so democratic afterall.

I watched it last night also. I also am not a big Reality TV fan, except Survivor. Just got hooked on it a few years ago. I like the concept but also thought that there was too much interference from adults. It sort of pre-set the stage. I also did not like the gold star thing. But we will see. I thought all the kids were great. They are just beginning to feel there way. Not sure if I will watch the while season, but will give it another shot.

I think the kids would need some guidance, but I don't like the hierarchy that they set them up with. I don't particularly like the gold star carrot dangling in front of them to be/do good either. Buut, my 4 1/2 year old like watching it.
