I personally love Nirvana. When my sister was in high school she wrote NIRVANA across the wall of one of our closets. Now it's like a landmark in our house.

true story: my daughter goes to rehearse with her band last weekend and she's singing "Lithium" to herself. The drummer asks, "what is that you're singing?" She says it's Nirvana. The drummer said, "Who? I never heard of them!" His dad overheard this exchange and was so upset he took away the drumsticks and started yelling at his son!

I knew about Cobain's death before I had ever heard a Nirvana song. I was eight, and someone in my house had left a magazine open to an article about his suicide. The first thing I ever knew about Nirvana was Cobain's suicide note.
Favorite Nirvana track? Currently "Been a Son," though I love Bleach.
