Velvet

I've loved "Velvet" since the first time I heard it. It is haunting and beautiful. I'm so glad I've gotten to see you perform it live. As a writer, I find I'm often influenced by the poets I read and the music I listen to. I gave you a poem that I wrote that was inspired by your music. The first time I heard "Velvet" it reminded me of another artist who I love. It reminds me so much of Robi Draco Rosa's CD Songbirds & Roosters. I realize you wrote this song a long time ago, but aI was wondering if you were aware of any influences or the circumstances under which you wrote the song.
