Lately I've been listening to Ultrasound a lot. I really like "Morfline" because Marty sings it with a bit of a growl, which is sexy. ;D

Just got L'Strange yesterday. What a great CD! Right now, I love Real Man. That and MOMM are all I play these days. Can't get enough.
One thing, though ... you can hear a real difference in Marty's voice between the two CD's. His voice is much clearer and less raspy on L'Strange. I hate to pull a Suzie, but I really hope he starts to protect his voice. I want to see him performing until I'm old and gray!

So far it is The Tunnel, Yes It Do, and Rain on the Brain. I just got the DVD and loved watching the guys be themselves (the house tour) and hearing the meanings of the songs from Marty. It has a lot on it and is good quality for what was then a local band.

Look how beautiful his voice is on Sleeper and Rain on The Brain (are those on that album)? Anyway, his earlier voice, even the sceamy side, was not as rough. Take care of those pipes, Marty!

Anyone know the name of the song on the Lovehmammers Live/Raw DVD. I forget which venue it is in, but it starts out with an awesome drum intro from Bobby, then Marty sings "We control your stereo, We control your video" and the chorus is like "Why Are We Alive?" Is it "Ultrasound"? I need to get me that CD!! LOVE that song! Would be awesome to hear it live on the tour!! A few of my favorites that are on heavy rotation in my CD player are: "The Sky Is Falling" "Hold On" "Clinic" "Giive It Up" "This Town" "Tunnel" "Eyes Can't See" "Low Life Insurance (Let's Get Wasted)" "Summertime in the City" "Real Man"

Hi guys, My fave song changes all the time but at the moment it is Summertime In the City and Bulletholes. I totally agree with mrsbud and wendyc122 I prefer MARTY's softer, more composed voice on L'Strange, although I love Momm I too want to hear him sing for along time to come so he has to look after his voice. He has a lot of singing to do in the near future and I don't want him all worn out by the time the concert finally hits us in Australia. Cheers, Helen

I have been playing MOMM a lot since I got it Friday, and I now really like Clouds in addition to the ones I already mentioned. THE REALLY COOL THING--I find that I like all of the songs and I can't say that about any "established" artist's CD that I have bought. I am going to make myself listen to L'Strange tomorrow--I just keep listening to MOMM.

Got "L'Strange" a couple of days ago and have been playing it non-stop. It has temporarily replaced MOMM as the continuous loop on my ipod. I love "Real Man", Rain on my Brain". "Summertime in the City" ... but that's partly because there aren't songs quite like them on MOMM. And the chick in "Real Man' has a lot of character ... cynical, conflicted, scared, street-smart. Incredible song. Some really great lyrics on both albums, to go along with the great music. Oh, and I guess the lead singer is pretty good. I hear somewhere that he's kinda goodlooking, too ...

This was from a post on the old message board on the LH site. I took this from julianah's post on the "Ok, so I was bored . . ." thread (under Marty): An interesting post by Billy about "Real Man" Real Man at it's first inception came to me at a Strip club in Wisc. "The Showpalace" I was just thinking through the eyes of a dancer and their perception as to what role they are to play to the crowd. Marty embelished the complete lyrics after I gave brought the chorus and theme. As for the musical side, I just went for a style that might fit the contemporary rock genre in these clubs. I hope/think the musica(that's spanish for music-I am going to Mexico tommorow!) fit the lyric. Secondly, songs that make the cut are weeded through by all five of our opinions. It's just a gut type thing and I can't think of a time were we all have not been on the same page as to whether or not to record/perform a tune. Alright, Bob keeps coming to practice with Gun's N Roses songs trying to pass them off as his own. Like, he will change one chord and maybe call it "Sweet Sugar of Mine". So far none of these have flown in under our radar and he still insists they are his own creation but whatever!

gotta say I'm really diggin Real Man, too. L'Strange is good -- a quite different sound overall and Marty's voice has changed quite a bit. Better get those nodes looked at. Any volunteers?

Hi Marty fans. I have a question about MOMM. While visiting my granddaughters I played the RS:INXS finale for them. My oldest granddaughter just flipped for Marty. Her birthday is next week and I was thinking of sending her the Lovehammers CD but with a title like "Murder On MY Mind" I was not sure if it would be appropriate for a 13 year old. My son would have a hissy fit with me if I gave her something with explicit lyrics. Please advise? TIA

Miracle, I think the lyrics are perfectly appropriate for a 13-year-old. The "murder on my mind" part comes from the song "The Tunnel", and he's talking about a long-distance relationship- says "the distance has been murder on my mind, can't see you with my own eyes". The CD is incredible, every song is great. It's clearly a "break-up" album though- very much about relationship issues and wanting to get back with someone, etc. Great album- highly recommend. If you order for LH site, it will take a while to get, but you can order from CDbaby.com and (if they have it in stock) you will get it much sooner.

I think MOMM is okay for a 13 year old. I am pretty protective about what my kids hear (8 and 5) and they listen to MOMM.
