Hey Marty,
I recently bought the new Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers documentary, "Runnin' Down A Dream," and it made me realize that the Lovehammers style is very similar to TP&TH in the fact that both of you are just straight up rock & roll bands. Petty once mentioned something about how "rock" has become an umbrella term for any style of music that includes an electric guitar. Neither TP&TH or LH seemed to pick a niche under this "rock" umbrella; you are both just true rock & roll bands. The cool thing about Petty is the timelessness which is something I think the Lovehammers have as well. These days, it seems like the radio is being dominated by so called "rock," which is mostly just crappy pop music that will probably come, go, and rarely be played on the radio 20-30 years from now. Were Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers an influence for you at all as far as the writing style? If so, was there a specific album of their's that served as a tool for you to get ideas from? And finally, would you ever consider covering any of their songs live? The track "Out In The Cold," of off the record, "Into The Great Wide Open" reminds me of you guys! It's such a cool song, and I know that a Lovehammers version could totally be pulled off live!
Thanks Marty!

We have been discussing doing Running Down a Dream.
I am a huge Petty fan. I hope to one day have a 12th of the catalogue of monuments songs that he has crafted. He is the best songwriter alive.
Marty
