Obviously, in your years of experience as a performer you have seen both the good and bad of the music industry.
For anyone that is planning on also following the path of being a professional musician (many of your younger Lh fans especially), could you offer them any advice of what they should NOT do to get into the industry?

I don't think they should have the focus on getting into the "industry". The focus shopuld be on writing and performing great material all the while having fun. The industry finds you when you are ripe for the taking and you should be guarded about buying into that. There is so much you can do independantly these days and the Industry ie major labels are crumbeling under their on massive weight and power structure. In 5 years the majors will be a much smaller part of the pie.
For all of those that wish to pursue a career in music I suggest they follow their passion and never listen to anyone. That is the strenght it takes to be a visionary and stoke a revolution. Be free!
