Hi Marty! You have a busy month ahead! I am looking forward to seeing you! In one of your recent radio interviews (I think with Kiki) you mentioned something to the effect that you felt at times that various entities (not your fanbase) within Chicago were working AGAINST your sucess rather than for it. That caught my attention because I happened to be living in Richmond, VA a few years ago when Elliott Yamin finished third on American Idol. Marty, I have never seen anything like it. That city lifted him up like nothing I have ever seen. He was in the paper, on the news, on the radio...even bags from the grocery store had "vote for Elliott" printed on them! It was total love, pride and support...similar to the way Dave Matthews busted out of Charlottesville (in a more grassroots fashion) the decade before. Do you think that coming from such a large metropolitan area has worked in your favor, or against it? ???And I mean no disrespect to Chicago, I love it there! Excited for Hammerfest. See ya then. My fans, the city of Chicago, my friends and family have all been imparative to my career. None of those entities hav ever worked against me. I want that to be known and respected. I am given the liberty to do what I love because of the fans and I truely owe them the world that I am given.
