Tunnel!
Be careful about staying by the airport. Its a long ride back from the metro. I say book a room (it doesn't cost you anything...can always cancel at the days inn). If we can all find something together, than we will switch. For those who don't mind paying more (rooms start around 200.00 per night, there is a hotel called The Willow near the metro that is also nice according to Penny's friend.

The Radisson at O'Hare is the one I could get a deal on with my flight, but...
if sharing a room that would take away some of the expense of taxis etc I'd have if I had to find a way into the City from Timbuktu

I agree with klly. The airports are far from Metro. It's doable, but not ideal. I think someone mentioned a train going from the airport to two blocks from the Metro. Unfortunately, not true. The blue line and orange line go nowhere near the Metro. Would have to take train all the way downtown and switch lines and come back to the northside on a different train or take a cab part-way from the blue line.

Are you guys saying we should book up some rooms right now?
Will they be charged now? Or when the date arrives?

You just need a CC to reserve the room - they won't charge you until you are there checking in.

Book now. Pay later. It's not like we're gonna be sleeping anyhow. At 5 a.m. when we get back to our rooms, the floor will look like a king bed with satin sheets, I'm sure.
