DG, I was telling my hubby about where your posts of your summer experience. I know you have told me before but where again exactly did you go? Sorry, I am so forgetful~ I went to Papua New Guinea. It's half of an island north of Australia (the other half is part of Indonesia). To be more specific I was in the Madang Province for most of the summer (on the north side of the island). But I also spent time in the Sepik region and the Highlands. It's ok not to remember where I was. It's not a well known place. Thanks everyone for indulging me. I'm hoping to have more pictures tonight. Thanks for the specifics, I will have to keep repeating that to myself to remember. It is really interesting~Love reading about your experiences and sharing it with my family about knowing you and what you did. I just couldn't remember the specifics, and they asked for specifics. Thanks again~Keep on Sharing!

So these pictures are going to be random.. Ok.. This is me sharing (translating) letters from home into Pidgin. This is Lois who handles the accounting for PBT. She is an amazing woman and a good friend. This was taken in the office in Madang. And keep in mind that it was dang hot, so excuse the outfit. This is me sharing w/ my dear friend Augusta. She once threatened to carry me if I didn't slow down. She speaks no English.

These are views from where we went fishing. I rode in a canoe like the one in the picture too. The first day we went fishing it rained the whole time.

This is typical Samban.. Notice the mud. It's usually mudder than in the first pictures I showed.

Except this one.. I took several pictures of the package that you guys sent over, but this is the only one that turned out. This is a photo of my refrigerator in Madang. I hung the biliums up so that you could kind of tell it wasn't in America. Notice the LH magnet along w/ wonderful drawings by BG's kids.

DG, the pics look great! Too bad about the bug repellent. Mosquitoes can be cruel.

Those black spots aren't birds.. They are bats.. We didn't have many birds in Madang, just a couple of annoying ones. That was taken through the moon roof of the vehicle I drove this summer.

the most beautiful thing in all of these photos, is not the sky, the ocean, the mountains or anything else --it's the smile on your face, DG. You should be so proud of yourself! I am so proud of you for embarking on this adventure! Don't let it be your last!

There aren't that many mosquitoses around the ocean area, just at night. And, the bats are fruit bats so they just eat the papayas and bananas. If only they ate the mosquitos..sigh..
