Thanks, gp. Some of my students liked that scene with the angel...because Suzie is 16 and stoned. It's one of the few semi-comedic moments. She comes in from a party, high as a kite on weed, throws her coat on the floor as her dad yells at her...runs from him before he has a chance to grab her. Returns from the kitchen with her mom and downs a plate of brownies all by herself as her older sis looks on in horror. Major munchies. When her mom tells her to put the plate in the kitchen sink...well, after that is when she blows her top about the angel - because when she re-enters the room they're putting it on the tree.

That sounds interesting.

Zindel...was he the one that wrote the play about Gamma Rays on Marigolds...can't remember the title...Let's see...I was a chorus member in most productions: Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, a nun in The Sound of Music, and a lady in Camelot. I played "Old Sally" in Oliver! (she's the croaking lady who gives Bumble & Corney the locket which tells them who Oliver's mum was), "Glad Hand" (the social worker - they changed that from male to female for me) in West Side Story ("Two circles kids")....Too many more. I've done around 33 or so productions. I've also been a stage manager, make-up artist, crew member, set painter, costumer (my most hated job - that one's not for me), sound tech, light tech...you name it. When I do get to have a "name" role it's usually a character part...mostly old ladies...I do a mean old lady *lol*....

Night, gp. The challenge is finding the young actress who can do that while keeping a straight face...like trying to find Dolly to eat all those dumplings or whatever it is in that big Hello Dolly! scene.

I used to do a bit of directing and dramaturgy as well...when I was in an independent theatre group...along with numerous roles...but you wouldn't recognize any of them...because we did primarily plays by our group members. I had hoped mine would be produced by them too, but the group folded

one of the benefits - and challenges - of not working full-time any more (disability - fibromyalgia/bipolar challenges) - is more time for theater!! I am so glad to be doing it agan after too long away!! And I really like the group of dedicated folks that I play with! And yes - Zindel also did The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds - did that show in college actually!! I plan to audition - hopefully my "crazy" time of helping out all my friends is going to settle down some for awhile!! I'm headed out now for tonight too - going to watch dvds --

or at least adapt to them -- I've added osteoarthritis in my knee to the list just the last 6 months -- have a heavy-duty brace - but I also lost about 35-40 pounds which has helped decrease pain quite a bit
Have a good night --
bye

Amen to the adapt sister. I'm on Enbrel now. Been living with this for about 12 years (it came on just shy of my 21st b-day)...and I'm not a needle fan...but I've made my peace with it for some relief. I've lost 20...working on making that 50. Some of the old arty drugs make you gain. *bleh*
