I am a new fan just like most of you. I just got the DVD though and was disappointed by the porno references and the extreme use of F bombs. Is that a Chicago thing? I love, love, love the music, but I'm hoping the guys might be transcending that by now? Isn't Billy a Dad with two kids? Yeah, the DVD was of the brothers, but is that what the whole band is like? Marty says he's grown, not changed from the INXS show. I hope they all have! I really like the Lovehammers and I'm certainly glad Marty did not win the gig, but has he outgrown the rest of the band? Tough question, but something you've got to wonder. Also, Marty if you ever read these, we care about your voice (not to mention your health) - make that New Year's resolution stick - No Smoking! You are incredible. Can't wait to see you in Oakland. It's a cool, old theater.

I haven't had any replies yet. Has anyone else seen the DVD and felt the same way? To anyone who saw the recent Chicago show... was there a lot of F bombs and stuff flying around? I was considering bringing my 11 year old daughter to the Oakland show, but I don't know what to expect.

I was at the Metro and it was totally family friendly. No "bad" words used. I don't know about the Aragon show - I wasn't there.

I haven't had any replies yet. Has anyone else seen the DVD and felt the same way? I've seen the DVD and wasn't at all offended. I thought it was pretty funny! But it definitely isn't for an 11 year old child.

I have the DVD and get the impression that some of that stuff is from previous years with a smaller, limited audience. I have heard that concerts are family friendly. I think that since they are getting a such a broad base of fans, they will be aware of that; Marty has always shown a lot of class. Remember that they shared a concert with Jessica Simpson and the crowd was already pretty much sold out with young girls and I don't remember anyone complaining that there was anything offensive. If you think about it, their songs may reference sex, etc., but not with the profanity we hear so often with rap--they imply it with lyrics that younger people probably wouldn't pick up on readily.

The aragon was clean except for some dirty mouthed oar fans. I have hidden my raw dvd because my son who is 7 loves marty and I would hate for him to watch it! But it is titled raw and is meant for adults. I thought it was funny but the first time I watched it I was shocked!

The DVD is RAW. I love it! It sure helped me get thru concert nights and plan on using it for other concert nights being that I can't make any that the LH have announced yet. My 13 yr. old son came in while I was watching it and caught Marty saying the "F" word. He acted like OM Marty said the "F" Word. Then he heard Marty say the "F" word a different time and said he was getting used to Marty saying it. I think the kids now a days are more mature than I was at that age. Heard more and have been exposed to more. I LOVE THE LIVE/RAW DVD!!! I hope LH make more!!! PLEASE!!!!!

I don't own the Live/Raw DVD so i can't comment on the language used but I think almost all music has sexual references in it these days. Rap has so many profanities that i sometimes wonder how anyone could listen to it without feeling somewhat dirty and taken advantage of. Bands like Blink-182 use references to having sex with animals and kids listen to that. All those pop bands sing about love and stuff. Britney Spears said she was a virgin when really she wasn't. I think kids learn young these days and i don't think they are as silly as some think.

I would have no problem taking an eleven year old girl to a lovehammer concert. I went to the Metro and the Aragon and I've heard more profanity out of my 5 year old daughter. The DVD is RAW, but I think they were a bit younger and just being boys.

I think the DVD rocks and I think they are just normal guys. Pure and simple. Guys watch porn...most people curse....they are just regular old guys. I don't mean that in a snotty way at all...I just think that it shouldn't really be a surprise that a male rock band would joke around about porn and use curse words. They seem like great guys with a fun sense of humor....sweet guys but normal guys.

I had heard, before the arrival and my 1st viewing, that the DVD was strictly for mature audiences. And I will admit parts of it were a little bit too RAW for my taste. But I guess the reason I didn't feel offended was that I didn't really feel it went beyond the limits of what some might view as typical Rock and Roll style.
I do think it helps a lot when you know what to expect though and can be a little more prepared. Then it would not be such a shock. And it is true they were a little younger then. And as much as we love these guys, we have to remember, sometimes 'boys will be boys.' Sharon

I'm with Gina...as they say, "boys will be boys". --- The DVD does say raw so you gotta expect it to be, well...raw. -- I actually found most of the stuff in it hilarious, but I've been told I have the mind-set of a thirteen year old boy.
...I wouldn't be to concerned about any swearing or real sex references (JD may grab himself, but that's just what he does) at any of the LH/INXS shows - a lot are played a family friendly places and INXs doesn't strike me as the type to "allow" a show over PG.
