(hope I'm not annoying people with this drawn-out story. Feel free to scroll past my fangirly ramblings!) So at the meet and greet, they were signing away. I enlisted the help of my friend Jackie because I wanted to get a few special things signed. For me, I just wanted the whole band to sign my pink LH tee and mission accomplished! Billy was first and we had a few seconds to chat because the line was stalled. He is really really nice and just seems so excited about all this. When Marty got it, we locked eyes (THUD THUD THUD) and I smiled and he stood up and held his arms out for a hug. I can't believe I was able to move forward, but I did. He enveloped me in this huge hug and (I remembered what someone said about a hug at the Metro, so) I just inhaled and breathed him in. It was heavenly. I kissed his cheek as we were letting go (or as HE was letting go, I was hanging on for dear life, and the nearby security was about to pounce) and whispered to him that I was the one rubbing his leg when he was on the rail and I hoped he didn't mind. He laughed and said, "no, thank you!" and I said, "No, no, thank YOU." God, I'm a tool. Anyway, next thing I know Bobby has the shirt and he is asking whose it is. When he found out it was mine he smiled and started to fold it up all elaborately and handed it to me with this mock bow. It was really cute. I then had a special something signed by Marty for my pal dramagirl and I was out of there. (There's a bit of a story there, but I want DG to get the thing first.) I had given my friend everything else and just told her to get what she could. She did GREAT! She just LOVES the Hammers now! In fact, she had gotten a group shot of the band signed and she asked me all sheepishly if she could keep it now. I was like HELL YEAH! (and immediately thought about posting the story in the converted friends thread. LOL.) BREATHED HIM IN OMG!!!!!! PM me a few more interesting details about how that breath (inhale) felt like......

RB, Hate to tell you this but I was trying to get a wristband signed for you and even sent Amy a priority envelope asking for one for you as well but forgot to put in the note and so she just sent me one. I am sorry. : ( I was trying.
I am sure that you will get a signature when you see them in Jan. They are so cool about it.

Thanks everyone who went to the show and shared pix and details. Not quite as good as being there but I'll have to settle until Gibson in LA on January 27th. Hoping for even more pix when people send Cindy their shots like what happened after the Metro Show.

I doubt I will ever meet them ever, esp. on the INXS tour where cameras are not allowed, etc...... Thanks for thinking of me!! I have two mc.org wristbands right here.

Wow kbrown! How funny that you didn't notice Marty until he was right on top of you - well right over you! What a great night you must have had! I'm afraid when I finally do get to see LH I won't be able to take my eyes off of him. I'll look like some weirdo trying to cast a spell on him! He'll be too scared to come over on my side! Glad you were able to go!

I wouldn't worry about that too much. How many times has he mentioned lately how much he loves the attention? Anyway, if anyone should be accused of casting spells, it MC himself - evil, evil man.

(Really... breathless, Penny74.) treedom (so far from Chitown...) ...and Rockbeast - you'd have been a goner - smashed (well, in one form or another) by all the wild and crazy Martyhammergirls! Awww, you wouldn't have complained too much, would ya?

Sherry that's funny about the pat down. They patted my daughter down real good. I had put my camera in the front of the waist band of my pants - the woman asked me to open my coat and then she touched my sides and when she did that I closed my coat again. But somehow my camera got all wet - I think the kids that put their coats on top of ours spilled their beer. The camera was in the pocket and when I went to take the pictures there were spots on the lens. It is only a throw away but I took it in today anyway to see if they could salvage any of the pictures. I'm not sure.
I agree with all the posts about the security but I understand why they have so much of it there - it's an "all ages" show and you never know what can happen. A bunch of young boys were trying to start a mosh pit right where I was standing in front of the mixing board. Never got off the ground though - thank god. I wanted to go outside for a cigarette after the show and the old old lady (older than me) told me I couldn't get back in if I went outstide. Dumb.

I was barely searched at all. She patted my jacket down and felt the outside of the pockets, but didn't ask what anything was or take anything from me. And trust me, my pockets were stuffed:
2 disposable cameras wallet 4 sharpies in assorted colors plastic holder with pictures to be signed pink LH tee to be signed special item for DG to get signed etc
The other security guard was awful though. I know she took the sharpies away from some hammerheads in front of me.

Sherry - that's a great picture!!! I only see 1 though. I'm glad your Chicago experience was a good one. I think most of the people in Chicago are pretty friendly. I know I always stop and help if I see someone who looks lost. Re the smoking thing. Everyone around me was smoking upstairs. So I finished my beer and left a little in the cup that I was going to use as an ashtray and 2 seconds after I lit up a security guy came up and told me to put it out - as I was watching all these young kids waving theirs in the air - LOL. I did sneak one in the lobby with a group of kids - they were funny - I felt like I was back in h.s. again. I told them all to quit now while they are young. Re the vomiting, etc. my lovely daughter said that is to be expected from a Q101 show - said the kids that listen to that station are . . . . well let's say the opposite of her. You can only imagine with someone like Mancow on the station.

Hey Penny,
I wish I could have met you. I probably saw you. I don't spend much time here, but I've read a lot of your posts. You are too funny. Maybe we can meet up down the line somewhere.
