Has anyone been to a concert at the Aragon Ballroom? I was able to get tickets for the December 16th show . My seats are General Admission. Is it one big mosh pit or what? ;D

Got mine, too! I could use some info on Aragon Ballroom, as well.
(I have heard it referred to as the Arrogant Brawlroom! ;D )

Been to the Arragon many times...
Just a bigger verison of The Metro. Get ready for $6.00 beers, and $3.00 for a cup of water (not a bottle).
One plus....the ceiling art is beautiful and you will be able to appreciate it when you get knocked on your arse in the pit.

So how early do you think we will need to get to the Aragon before the show? I have tickets, I have tickets, I have tickets! Would the Aragon mind if I started camping out tomorrow--only 2 months till the show afterall ;D!

Hi, I saw the Pumpkins at the Aragon several years ago. If I remember correctly, there is a very large floor area. The only seats are up higher in the balcony area. It is a very cool place. Kinda gothic, but neat.

It sounds like I will need to wear my steel-toed boots and knee and elbow pads. I am starting to fear that I am too old for this.... The last time I was really close to the stage at a show I got felt up by an older guy and I was too embarrased to tell my mom. That tells you how long it has been.

So I will be deciding in the next two endless months of waiting for the show... am I brave enough for the pit where I might catch a closer glimpse of Marty or do I play it safe and sit up higher with a pair of really good binoculars? hmmmm...

I haven't told my hubby I got tickets to Aragon yet, shhh. I'm still dealing with the "you owe me" for the Metro show. 10 hr drive from Arkansas. He thinks I've gone crazy.
treebee, where are you coming from?

Ha! I dunno about this whole mosh pit thing either. My moshing days are long over. Last time I was in a pit, gen admission show I got felt, touched, mauled and every other thing..but that was a loooong time ago. Yes its a dilema. Wanna see Marty close but is it worth being squished and pummeled for hours. Not to mention the odd guy that has too much beer and decides to puke. That's always fun.

I highly doubt that they'll be any moshing for this show.

Any time there is General Admission tickets, there is a risk of overcrowding, pushing, etc....especially at a rock concert. Doesn't matter if people won't be "moshing"....a lot of women want to get close to Marty and will do practically anything to do so. Hell...I had General Admission tickets to see Clay Aiken at the Illinois State Fair and almost got knocked to the ground...there was definitely no moshing going on there....just overzealous fans wanting to squeeze closer.

I agree Kelz. No it's not moshing but it's just one step shy. Pushing, shoving. People closest to the stage really take a beating. I've been in these type situations a few time and I've always come home bruised. I'm not sure I wanna be near the stage for this event.

I am going to fly in for the show, cripes, I have gone insane! Anyway, was thinkin' of flying into Chi on the day of the show and flying out on Sunday be back in time for work on Monday Morning. Guess my question is does anyone know of a hotel that would have shuttle access to airport and yet still be close enough to ballroom?? Don't want to rent a car?? Any chance of being able to get cab at such a venue???
