Am glad that full length Trees is available. It's nice to finally hear it though at this moment, I still like the acoustic guitar version played at RS better. I'm sure it'll grow on me. Looking forward to the album!

dudes, you can request at any station - they officially can't play it until Jan 17, but the more you request around the country, the more they'll sneak it in, and the more they will play it once Jan 17 hits - dig?! ROCK! dino 'de la manch!!! Just had to add this quote from Dino to get us motivated to get busy now and start requesting Trees! Woohoo! Den

"Trees" does sound different. I love all versions that I have heard so far. The LOVEHAMMERS can do no wrong in my book!! Will begin requesting it ASAP.

I've been listening to this new Trees on a continuous loop for about a half hour now, and I'm in love with this version. I can't wait for the entire album!!! First, my beloved Texas Longhorns beat USC to win the national championship, then I find the new version of Trees. I'm not going to get much sleep tonight. I didn't get to watch much of the game but We are UT fans here too!!! Right outside of Austin, TX.

My favorite version is still the first one, the Rockstar performance when he just blatted out his lament... if we hold on, if we hold oooooooooooonnnnn and I KNOW there's more for us in this llllllllliiiiiiiiiffffffee!!! He was in PAIN. his "I'm in sheer agony" face is on here as someone's avatar. I think that's what may be missing from this version..he'd lost the pain a bit, but I still like the fullness, think it will have wider appeal this way, and think it's got #1 with a bullet written all over it..

While I'm EXTREMELY excited that I am finally able to hear the new version of "Trees", I am also left a little cold by it. I love Marty, I love "Trees"...really, I do...but this new version almost seems to drag a little. Maybe I'm just used to a more up tempo version...I don't know...I just keep feeling like it should be a bit faster.

That's because we all love our screaming Marty. After people hear this version of Trees, they'll go looking for everything Marty and they'll get hooked too... nothing they'll be able to do about it... total Marty madnesssssss....... as someone here placed in their sig: It's out of the cage now...

Anybody take a look at the front page of the LH site this evening? Look near the top, this was added -- • • When you sign up, you'll automatically get access to links to hear the full length version of the Marty Casey & Lovehammers single "Trees!" • • I hear tell *ahem* you can sign up with the address you've already used to sign up for the LH mailing list and --viola! -- you're taken to where you can hear a f**king awesome full length version of Trees from the Lovehammer's new album! Go do it! NOW! Why can't I see this? The sign up takes me to a link that says click here to continue and then takes me back to the sign up. I even tried signing up under a new e-mail addresss. Is it cuz I'm on a Mac? I'm probably signed up multiple times now and I'll get duplicate e-mails.

I am part of an Aggie family, but still give great kudos to the Longhorns! Love the fact that Texas pulled it off and surprised a lot of people! Now, we need to get Marty and the LH here to perform in the Woodlands Pavilion among all the TREES! It would be the perfect place.

I had a tendency to try to tap my foot faster to try to speed it up...lol.

Yeah, this version has more of a lilt to it than the earlier version from RS, but it's still our boyz and it has real commercial appeal. I can't wait to see what they do with it in concert!
And I don't think the line "if we hold on" is in the RS version; I think it's from a version that Marty performed at a radio station, the same one that has the "let's use our imaginations" line. (Can you tell I've listened to all of them a lot???)

I'm on my 3rd listen OMG!!!!!!!! I was so excited I yanked my co worker over here to listen (he's a devout jazz guy but he says it's very catchy and he'd stick with if it came out on the radio) I loooooove the ending "If we just hold on, if we hold strong" <sigh> thud BTW nice solo Billy. And I think it's slow enough to appeal to TOP 40, Adult contempary, as well as alternative stations.

I think we have just been lucky to have had heard so many different versions. We have been able to choose acoustic or electric, or RockStar or LoveHammers. My personal favorite is the first one I heard. That of course is RockStar electric. I am however very excited for the guys about the public debut of Trees and the album. And, I will admit I think anything Marty does is Superfragilecalasticxbealadious!!!!! Sharon

I was not disappointed in this version. In fact, I think the song showcases his voice and talent even more than the rs version. It still has its marty bite and has the commercial appeal the song needs for their first song release. He said during rs that he wasn't as happy with the arrangement of Trees that was done for the show...I assume that he didn't like that he had to shorten it to fit in the alloted song time (they had like a little over 2 mins. for each song, you know) which left out one section of the song, as well as the faster tempo and less edgy-ness. This version is closer to the demo, but has more polish... but I love all of them! I am so pleased with the guitar solos, as well. Rock on, Billy!
I love the way he sings "got one shot" at 1:52 and you're all that I've got at 2:06 "answers" at 2:35 and "disasters" 2:47....in a word...sexy! I have obviously listened to it many times. I hope those of you who have been disappointed can come to love it.
What makes it even better for me is that this is truer to what he intended when he wrote Trees. I like it when Marty is happy...that makes me happy! ;D
