They rocked my world in Highland CA and meeting them was a dream. I got a hug from Marty!! Need I say more. My hubby was along so I couldnt be a big groupie and go meet them at the tour bus like I wanted but got to be a goober fan--like I am and get autographs and all. I posted my experience at team Mig but thougth, for what its worth I'd share with you all even though its directed at my fellow Team Mig members: Its longwinded so be prepared:

Lovehammers/INXS, Jan 26 2006, Highland CA
Hello team Mig Members, Let me start by saying, I have been offline for awhile. I got this horrible Flu virus crud going around California and it took me about a full month to get over, and am just now getting over it. This has also been a whirlwind month for me…although being sick, I flew up to Seattle (my hometown) 2 weekends in a row. This was to join my Mom to watch our beloved Seattle Seahawks win both of their playoff games and make it finally and for the first time to the SUPERBOWL!! Those who know I was a former Seahawks Cheerleader (Seagal) may also not know that I have followed this team since I was 8 yrs old and my Mom has had season tickets for 24 years. This team, this city deserved it and what a party it was. Cammie, will attest to what a maniac I am when it comes to the Hawks. Sorry Steelers fans but if you all can send some karma the Hawks way on game day Superbowl Sunday, please root for them!!
The weekend I got back was then INXS/Lovehammers the very next weekend. I couldn’t originally get any good seats together for hubby and I to the show closest to my house at Pala casino and same thing at Gibson amphitheater in LA which would be my 1st choice to attend as all the famous peeps show up in LA--sorry Joyce--wish I was there and am kicking my own ass now for not going as I knew all the stars would be at that show--missing MiG--I am bummed. But I am here to tell you I wasn’t gonna miss the concert so I broke down and had to join the darned INXS fan club just to get tickets to the San Manuel casino show in Highland CA. So with the promise to my hubby that we’d make a weekend out of it (its 35 miles from Big Bear and he could go snowboarding the next day--which he did while I got a massage at the spa) we got 2 awesome seats to this show.
I know this will be long winded, but I must preface this show review and next part by saying the following: I know a lot of you don’t like INXS. I know a lot of you think MiG was wronged on the show. And I know a lot of you don’t like J.D. Well here’s my take so you know where I am coming from: I love INXS, and have since I was 17yrs old. Last time I saw them was Jan 1986---20 yrs to the month !! I watched the RSI show from the very beginning FOR INXS 1st, then obviously fell in love with MiG first and foremost of the rockers. I love MiG with all my heart. I did however also love Marty, Jordis, Ty and yes in a way JD. He grows on you like a fungus. Now, don’t get me wrong, I wanted MiG to win so badly as we all did, but I also thought JD was evil genius and knew what he was doing from the start. I also think he was the best fit for INXS and am just happy for all involved really as the best outcome came about for everyone involved. I truly believe this, that the universe works the way it is suppose to.
Having said all that. The next thing I have to say is: I GOT A HUG FROM MARTY CASEY!!
I am now a Lovehammers fan too! If you haven’t been to Target lately--their debut CD on Epic is on sale for $10, and there is not a dud on the disc. I must say that “Trees” isn’t even the best song on there. If you like catchy rock--this disc is for you so go out and buy it--support them--they truly deserve it. They kicked off the INXS concert in style. In true Marty Casey fashion, he couldn’t hold back and ran out into the middle of the audience to sing--what a treat. He looked great, they sounded great, and whoa--that drummer Bobby--one hot tamale! They did a lot of songs from the CD and “Trees” of course was awesome. They then ended the show with a rousing rendition of “Ring of fire” by Johnny Cash. Marty is so skinny in person and his pants were so low I could see his arse the whole show. I looked at hubby at one point and said “That boy needs to pull his pants up!”, to which hubby replied “Marty needs to ‘Just say no to Crack’” and we both fell apart laughing.
Marty announced during the show they’d be signing copies of their CD (which sold out at the show) in the back lobby after INXS. So I hightailed it over there immediately during the 2nd INXS encore to get in line. Hubby was along so I couldn’t be a groupie fan like I wanted and go out to the tour bus to chase them ( I hear Marty like to sign girls boobs hee hee) so had to be a big goober fangirl like I already am and hubby and I got to meet them. Ok I had my verizon v-cast phone along and can take video and photos with it but they were very strict there. NO PHOTOS whatsoever. Since I didn’t have the CD on me, I got a photo (black and white on paper--photocopy) from a guy in the merch. booth for the m to sign. I have inserted a copy of my signed photo in this post for proof I was there and met them. Marty was fresh and had that “glow” to him you get after a big sweaty workout. His porcelain skin was flawless and under the light he was sitting under with his blonde locks cascading down, he looked almost angelic. I greeted him with a “Thanks for such an incredible summer watching the show, I really enjoyed watching you blossom.” And he then stood up from the table and gave me a big hug and thanked me for coming, pressing his ear tightly to my face, which his ear was still burning hot. Hubby shook hands with them all and told them how proud he was of them and what a good show. But Marty: what a nice, nice sweet man. Anyway, one more kudos to the Lovehammers…..they are a true rock band and their songs: “Rain in the brain“, “Casualty”, “Eyes Cant see” and all the rest really will stick in your head like glue. I look forward to seeing them again and will now keep my eye on The Lovehammers too.
Now INXS was sort of anticlimactic for reading this after all that but they were awesome.
Kirk’s saxophone really makes them along with the back up singers and they played mostly all of he hits. The funny thing is when they played certain songs…all I could hear was the rockers singing them. When they did “Don’t change“, I heard Marty Casey, when they did “Kick” I heard Ty Taylor, when they did “What you need” I hear MiG of course. When they did “Bitter Tears” I heard Suzie McNeal singing. At one point though Hubby actually got a tear in his eye when they did “Never tear us apart” (he’s sensitive don’t laugh) because he said he missed Michael Hutchence.
But actually now to JuhDuh: he was smooth, very hot in person and harnessed his manic energy very well. Mostly he was , how to put it “Very appropriate”and fit right in. His stage banter was witty, not overdone and they actually gelled. Don’t hate me but I was really proud of him.
Ok so that’s pretty much it in a nutshell, thanks for listening but needless to say, I am just a big fan and always will be really of all who took part in the show. My hug from Marty Casey has kept me on cloud 9 for a day or 2, so to all you girls who have met Miggy…THIS WOULD BE TIMES 10!!, I get it, and sincerely cant wait to meet the man, our MiG.Cheers,
Kellee
