OK everyone I am super tired because it has been a very long day...but here is my initial review and it will probably be all over the place because I am so tired.
I met up with a group of LH fans before the show at the Hard Rock. I enjoyed meeting everyone very much!! After that we all headed to the venue separately. After I parked and went into the venue I did not see anybody from the group so I decided to go back outside and find the buses so I knew where they were for later. While I was out there I saw what I thought was Marty heading to one of the buses alone. I yelled "Marty, can I get a photo?" He stopped and said yes so I hightailed it over there only to realize I had no one to take the pic. Out of no where this young girl arrived you wanted a picture. So she took hers and then one of Marty and I. Hopefully it turns out because it is a disposable camera so at this point I have no idea if it will turn out. Anyway....my goal was to get a photo and I got it before the show! I knew it was going to be a good night after that no matter what.
So anyway....my seat for the show was not all that great but I knew that going in. I didn't let it stop me from rocking out an supporting the guys. Marty actually did a solo acoustic Mr. Brightside at this show. I was so stoked about that. They also did Ring of Fire and Ultrasound. Everything else was off the new album. I think they did everything except Casualty & Clouds. Hopefully someone else can confirm that. The guys were great.... a lot of energy and again though most of the people around me were there for INXS ....the most troubling part are the people going in and out of the aisles to get beer or use the restroom and they of course get in your way or block the view. That was the most irritating part. But I still had a fabulous time.
By the way I did not take any pics during the show because they were really strict about cameras and I was too far back anyway....and I did not want to chance losing my camera when hopefully I had that pic of me & Marty.
After the show myself and many of the others I met hightailed to the lobby to hopefully meet everyone and get autographs. The bad part is this venue is not really equipped for any type of meet & greet informal or otherwise. The hallways are very narrow. After a long wait and a talk with Dan....Marty did come out and see us. He gave hugs, signed things, and took photos will fans. I did get a hug, an autograph on the CD, and another photo with him just in case the first one did not turn out. Pam had made some buttons for us and I was wearing one and he commented "nice button." I don't think I told Pam that....so there you go Pam!
After that and after waiting outside we found out the other guys were signing in a stairway of all places....so I went in there got Dino, Bobby, & Billy's autographs and photos taken with Dino & Billy with me....but was only able to take a pic of Bobby.
Obviously, I was so happy to get the chance to get photos & the autographs and since it was a disposable I will be going to the one hour photo later today and will get them scanned and sent in to Cindy.
Here is the main bad part.....we learned from Dan that the Metro DVD and Trees video shot at the Metro was scrapped/canceled. He did not say why but it looks like it will not be coming out after all.
It was a great night....I am sure I will have more to add when I am not so tired.
p.s. I only stepped into the venue once when INXS was on just so I could say I saw them. I was in there maybe a full minute if that.

It was awesome! And the acoustic/solo Mr. Brightside was probably what I would hoped for in terms of a non LH song. I still wished they did Casualty though...but you can't have it all. FYI: I saw Dino's fingers wrapped but I am such an idiot I thought does he wrap them for when he is playing on a normal basis. After I saw his diary entry now I know why!!!
Here it is:
February 08, 2006 Hand Job
Dudes,
I messed up my fingers when my dog Frankie's leash got caught in the elevator, and the elevator started going up. I just grabbed it and pulled as hard as I could. The leash ended up breaking, and I ended up getting my middle finger cut pretty bad - all the way to the bone - GROSS, and ripping the skin off my ring and pinky finger. My right hand just lost some skin, but it is pretty much ok.
I have been playing only using one finger on my left hand, and dealing with the pain. Does it hurt? Yes. Does it suck? YES. BUT, I have 3 other guys counting on me, and I am not about to let them down.....
Frankie is fine too, don't worry!!!!!!
ROCK!

thanks for your review.. but TREES VIDEO CANCELLED?? WTF?? WHY?? NOOOOOOOOO! I was a little disturbed to read it too ndluv. Hopefully it just means the Metro footage for the video was scrapped and not the entire Trees video. I mean, there has to be a Trees video (she pleads).

I was there last night, too, and WOW ... Marty and LH were terrific !! Sure can't top you getting photographed with Marty, but we did have great seats and when he came down our aisle I was close enough to gaze into his eyes and touch him ... so I'm happy! I totally agree - for INXS the accoustics were terrible. It was almost painful to the ears at time and I love JD's voice - couldn't hear the best of that, could we? Maybe it was just me, but their older songs sounded better than the newer ones. Anyway - it was a GREAT night!! I'm still MartyStruck from getting so close to those beautiful blue eyes ...

The Detroit show ROCKED last night! This was my first LH show and I can't wait to see them again already. I had great seats but unfortunately no photos were allowed at the venue I missed my chance of meeting the guys when the fire marshall cleared the stairwell they were signing in. I did get to see Marty's beautiful blue eyes for a few seconds though. Now I have a mission and something to look forward to! Great to meet you Pam and thanks for the buttons Now I'm off to figure out how to get Marty avatar finally.

OMG, Mr. Brightside? Why oh why, didn't he decide to perform that at previous shows? I'm terribly disappointed to have missed that. "We're One but we're not the same. We've got to carry each other"

Hi everyone!! Sorry to be posting so late after the concert. Been nursing a sore throat and yeah, my voice is gone. Did it rock? Hell yeah!! Did I meet Marty and the guys?? Hell NO!! But I met so many great Lovehammer fans. They are truly the best fans in the world. They work their butts off promoting, supporting and spreading the love. I had a fantastic time. My friend Alison was supposed to post a concert report under my screen name, but I don't see it. She was really nervous about getting on the boards since she has never done it before, but I tried to reassure her that no one cares how you write out the report, just that you tell about your own experience in your own words. And she truly was the one to have the experiences compared to me. I just have bad luck, No surprise. She works nights and has already left for work, but I will hound her tomorrow until I see the post!! Now in her defense, I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart for wiggling her way into the staircase and telling Marty all about me and what I have done to support the band and she also got my pictures autographed. She even told him that my foot was in a walking cast and I would have gotten over to him if I could have. It also sucks to be as tall as I am because the security guards latch right on to me and I even had one holding on to my jacket to stop me from entering the stair case. You know they say its better to give than to receive?? Well, its true. I am more happy that my virgin Hammerchick friends got in and were able to get autographs and pictures than if it had been me in there. Back to my Alison: She met all the guys and had them sign a special picture she had enhanced from a shot she took of Marty at the Aragon show. She even got some Marty loving for me which she was shy to tell me until I asked because she didn't want to upset me since I didn't get some personally. She has never been a Hammerhead, but she understands the respect we have for Dino, Billy, Bobby and especially Marty. She said he was very real and as gracious as I had said he was. Plus, I think she has a little crush on Bobby. His name came up several times on the drive home.... Here are the beautiful Hammerchicks that were able to meet up at the HardRock Cafe before the show. Oh, and that's Remy our waiter (very cool guy) in the front.

Argh! I could've been there with you guys, had I not had such a streak of bad luck with my tickets and plans. I'd have been an old gray haired lady in the back of the group, teaching hippie ways to the young'uns..lol. Next time, mes petites, next time... So glad to see all those beamy smiles!

Where to start? I just got back from Detroit about an hour ago (went to Windsor Casino today and had some more fun) and my head is still reeling with the details of last night. First, it was so great to meet eveyone at the HardRock before the show. I so enjoyed meeting everyone, and thank you so much Pam for everything you did for everyone, especially us LH virgins. Pam had flyers for us to pass out at the show, Pam's friend Alison made a poster for me to hold up during the show, and Pam gave me a picture of the LH to get signed. Thank you again, Pam. You are the best!!! Once we arrived at the Masonic, we were told that there were absolutely no cameras allowed. I had one in my bra and another one in my pocket and gave one to my friend to put in her bra, so we were able to get three in, but were not able to take any photos during the concert because a very stern usher was standing right behind us for the whole show. Here is the set list:
Ultrasound (beginning part) Straight as an Arrow Hold On The Riddle Call of Distress Rain on the Brain Mr. Brightside (acoustic) The Tunnel Eye's Can't See Trees Ring of Fire
The concert was so awesome. The best part for me was being able to call my 5 year old son during Mr. Brightside. He sings that song to anyone who will listen to him. He tells everyone that Marty Casey of Lovehammers sings it, so he was thrilled he got to hear it "live". After the show, a few of us met up to decide on how to go about finding the guys. I will post that in a little bit so this does not get too much longer.

After the show, SHR, historylight, moonlitemelody, kimberlyinthetrees, alphachi31 and her hammerhubby, Amy and I, plus a few others were hanging in the hall waiting to hear if there was going to be a meet and greet or not. We were told no, but we didn't leave, just in case... Shortly after that I turned around and there was Marty standing right behind me. Everyone started hugging him, so when I saw my opportunity I stepped up to him, put my arms out for a hug and said "Marty, I am soooooo glad to finally meet you!" and got my hug. His response was )*@&*$^&@&^ - yeah, I have no idea what he said to me then, but his smile was so sweet and his hug was so warm. He was wearing a leather coat, so that was all I remember smelling. After that, I saw that alphachi31 was giving Marty something from her daughter, then he signed her shirt, so when she was done I asked for him to sign my shirt. I had embroidered "HAMMERHEADS LOVE LOVEHAMMERS" on the back. He signed it and said "Cool", but again my memory of what he said is fuzzy. Then people were getting photos taken with him. I took one of kimberlyinthetrees with Marty and then handed my friend my camera and stepped up next to Marty and asked if he had time for a photo with me. Again, I have no idea what he said, but I got a photo with him. Then I saw people handing him stuff to sign so I pulled out my L'Strange CD inset and handed it to him sign. He said "old school" in a laughing voice. This I remember clearly. Then I stepped back so others could have their turn. He finally said that he would see us all later and left. This gave us hope that we would get to meet all 4 guys later.

After Marty left, some of us continued to hang out in the hall, not sure what to do next. Some left to go see if they could find out anything. We stayed in the hall until INXS was done and everyone left. We waited and waited until finally security told us we needed to leave. I must have looked forlorn because the security guard told me that the LH were going to be leaving through the door next to the door we were at. So the rest of us relectantly went outside to wait in the freezing cold. When we went out, the bus was being backed into the alley to be loaded. We stood by the door and waited, then someone finally came out, so some of us went in. Once inside, I was not sure which way to go. Some went straight up and some went to the left. A security guard walked past me and whispered for me to go to the left. I asked who I would see if I went to the left, because there were several people trying to find JD as well. He said again, go left. I did and found that it was leading to JD so I turned around and started heading back to go the other way when I hear a guitar and singing. Someone just ahead of me said "that's Marty", and indeed it was. He was standing at the top of the stairwell singing. Bobby, Dino and Billy were all there as well. When Marty was done singing, I went up the steps. A lady in front of me was telling Marty something, then Marty looked up and told Bobby, Dino and Billy that she was Brandon Calhoun's(SP?) mom (from RS:INXS). I was standing next to Billy so I asked him if he would sign my shirt. Then I got Dino and Bobby to sign as well. I then remembered the picture that Pam gave me, so I got Bobby, Billy and Marty to sign it. When Bobby signed it, he was so sweet. After he signed it he blew on it and waived it around so the ink would dry. I said "thank you" and he said "thank YOU" in the most sincere voice. I was then able to tell Marty that I was so glad that he sang Mr. Brightside because my son sings it to everyone and I was able to call him during the song. Marty said "Well, then I am glad I sang it, too." I was trying to have Dino sign my picture when security told everyone to leave immediately. So that ended the evening. By the time we got back out, the guys were already on the bus. It was so cold, so we said our goodbyes and left. I hope this was the first of many more future meetings, of both the LH and all of the wonderful fellow Hammerheads I got to meet. You are all the best and helped to make my first time the very best I could have ever hoped for.

Sharon Pretty much all done now, unless I remember any more details, like the fact that Billy looked out from under his hood to look at me when he handed me the photo back. He has the nicest smile.
