The LH show in DC was awesome! Although you could tell the guys were a little tired from the 6 day, 6 cities part of the tour. Plus it was crazy cold outside!! But they gave the audience everything they had and it was 10x better than INXS, whom also showed their exhaustion a bit. Sounded great, looked great, all-in-all a great time! I was in mid-balcony on the right hand side and I was actually approached by an usher and asked to SIT DOWN during the LH set. I told the lady I didn't realize I was watching the symphony... who was she kidding, I was at a ROCK show!!! I sat down for about a minute and then got right back up again... probably pissed off the folks behind me, but oh well. LOVED the show, but my husband and I feel like we really need to see LH in a dirty, sweaty bar to get the real experience. Think we may have to hop a plane to Chicago to do that, will probably be worth it!! Got to meet Marty afterward, such a sweet person. Best of luck to LH, we'll be seeing them again!

Welcome and thank you for your reveiw pdhva.
I think the rule should be if ya can't stand during the Lovehammer's performance then ya can't stand during INXS's performance. Seems fair...either you can stand during the concert or not. lol

I was one or two rows behind you (in EE mid balcony). I was with my daughter and two other friends. I was engrossed in the concert (but my daughter noticed the exchange between you and the usher and pointed it out to me) We were appalled that the usher asked you sit down!!!! Everybody was standing at different times--it was, afterall, a rock concert. My daughter was pretty vocal about it too. I agree that Marty and company seemed a little exhausted, but they were still great. Also agree that it would be even better to see them perform in a nightclub setting. My only regret is that Marty did not talk to the audience more...he has incredible charisma--any thoughts about why he didn't?? But it was still a fabulous experience. Did you notice that JD asked the band to sing another song at the very end and they said "NO"?? Also thought they ruined "Never Tear Us Apart" but the rest was good. My girlfriend met Marty and the Lovehammers too, and got their autographs. Take care and keep standing!!!

sidpayton -- wasn't me because I was in FF on LEFT hand aisle facing the stage. I called it RIGHT because that's the way I turned to get to my seat, sorry for the confusion, I have Left-Right issues apparently. But I know exactly whom you're talking about! The usher came to me first as I was in an aisle seat and asked me to sit down and I glanced over to that LH fan in front of you (on her feet the entire time in a sea of sitters, go girl!) and within 60 seconds the same usher told her to sit down! What a crock! I think she and I both stood up within seconds of being asked to sit.
Here's the lesson to all who may be reading -- Don't sit down during the LH set! Especially if you're in the balcony, the guys can see you up there cheering them on!!
6 days, 6 cities is hard. Especially if you're a rock star that everyone wants a piece of every minute of the day. I think Marty was fabulous, as always. They had exactly 45 minutes to give it all they got, not much time to chit-chat with the audience unfortunately. I think that JD was really great, I totally enjoyed Suicide Blonde and Don't Change (although I think Marty's rendition from the show is better). And Pretty Vegas is really cool, can't stand Never Tear Us Apart because it reminds me of my cheesy High School Homecoming Dance Senior Year, never liked that song so there was no way it could've been any better It's too bad the Marty doesn't get enough credit for co-writing Pretty Vegas with JD, it's definitely what made JD a star no question about it. At least he's listed on SWITCH as a writer. JD was RIGHT for that band. I wish him great success. But I'd rather see LH any day of the week, then INXS again.
Glad to hear your LH crew enjoyed yourself in DC as much as we did!!
