I am seriously bummed that no videos of the live performances are allowed to be posted. I did see the ones that were up earlier and am very thankful I did. I have not had the opportunity to go to a live concert and really felt like I was able to be a part of everything when I saw the video footage. Not living the the U.S. makes it very difficult to see the LH when that is where the tour is taking place. I would love to know who requested the removal of the videos and why. I may as well say it.... I feel incredibly left out and was really appreciating how other HH were bringing myself and others in my situation into the loop with all they have been sharing. Unfortunate that we are now back on the outside looking in. Come on.....not everyone has the ability to hop on a plan and fly to a different country to see a live performance, no matter how badly we would like to. Cut us a little slack.

hi wefdweb, ummm, my heart says "Yeah!" I agree with you --total bummer especially for us int'l fans, but my head says, "damn there are copyright issues involved here." I am wondering if we can post clips from the videos that were up? Huh, can we?

We are all bummed that we can't see the videos or hear the audio clips anymore. I'm hoping maybe it means there will be a dvd soon for us. We have to respect the LH & Sony/Epic's wishes & protect the copyrights.
Cindy is on the radio show right now....yaaaay.

I agree, I'm bummed....and enjoyed them while they lasted. But, let's face it - bootleg is bootleg no matter how high tech we get. I remember back in the early 70's when my sister would have bootleg cassette tapes from concerts. We're no different, just more high tech with digital cameras. It's infringement of Federal copyright law....even though it was fun. But we need to stay true to the band and always keep their best interests at heart.

Isn't it only infringement if they are for sale? I can certainly understand their need to protect their copyrights, but I doubt that anyone is making a profit off these video clips. And I would GLADLY shell out money for an official concert DVD!!!!

Even if not for sale - think about it for a minute - people download it - pass a copy along to their friends ---
When people can download them and share for free, there's no incentive to buy stuff when it finally comes out (granted true fans will buy anyway, but enough don't to make an impact - my brother is in the music sales business and we've discussed the impact digital options have made on the sale of CDs and DVDs).
The Band deserves to protect their copyright and royalties - after all, it is a business - and we want these guys to make money and succeed so there will continue to be concerts for us to go to and great music to listen to!!
(and I'm one of those who hadn't seen all of them yet, too)

I think that this is a terrible marketing idea! Any one that has never seen our boys perform has no idea of the intense performance that they are capable of executing. When there is a visual component involved in the equation, that equals SALES!!! Where would Marty be right now if we never saw him perform in Rock Star INXS? When they finally get some videos out on VH1, that is when they will sky rocket. They need to have the videos on here to continue to promote themselves. They are posted here for the fans that are doing everything that they can to promote them. No one has made a pirate video and put it on e-bay. We are the people that are flying all around the country to see them, buying their CDs and shirts.

No one has made a pirate video and put it on e-bay. Yet! Everyday there's more Lovehammers stuff popping up on ebay that is totally not official, from jewelry to Tshirts. We don't know what Lh and their management have in mind for the future, so it's hard to guess what damage these videos may have on future projects/sales. Yeah, it's a bummer. But, it's realistic.

I'm sure it has alot to do with Epic wanting to own the clips for their own site/DVD, etc. Good news is you know the boys are heading to the big time when they start shutting down fun things on the fan sites. Or, is that the bad news...

Or, is that the bad news... well no one has approached me to 'own' them and they are mine...however I would NEVER want to hurt the band in anyway - financially, emotionally, physically - anything - or promote bootleg or illegal downloads of songs, etc. I feel really badly & hope I did not cause a problem for the band - like we all said, we were just sharing so that everyone COULD see what this band is all about, especially LIVE! We should just keep up the street-teaming, & bombard EPIC with requests for a new live concert DVD AND music videos to get onto MTV & VH1. Please trust that the videos were taken down per the request of Lovehammers' management & it was for the right reasons, even if it does make us sad...

Jodie,
Don't feel bad. I was a lucky one who saw the videos and they were great. I missed the cancelled NY concert so at least I got to see something. Your videos didn't lesson my desire to see them live, it has made me determined to get seats in the front rows as soon as I can.

Just like you I sent my clips over for Cindy to post because there were already clips from lots of others. Not just yours. Hey even Dan sent over a Ring of Fire clip from the road. I was only wanting to share my awesome experience and also let those who attended the CBGB's show relive some of the night. (Sorry now you can't see them) I'd personally be very happy to share anything with the band/management if they wanted to use it on the official site or for promotional means.

Jodieca -- I'm sorry if I was misunderstood. I meant "own" as in LH management owns the IMAGE of MC&LH and they have control over how that image is portrayed on all forms of media. I know it sounds crazy because it's YOURS and you have the right to do what you want with it, but unfortunately you have legal limitations because it portrays someone elses image and copyrighted material in their FULL form. I'm in the film/video biz and the amount of legal paperwork involved in Half the stuff we do is ridiculous. Don't be sorry for posting the videos, they were awesome!! I totally enjoyed them! And for a band that loves its fans they way LH does, I'm sure they don't care either....but the control has to start somewhere. This is where the grassroots effort goes to the Big-time, unfortunately. Sorry for the long explanation.
