treebee, I won't be able to attend, but I will help you get promo material together. Are you going to be the Team leader for this? Since you post at both the Lh board and here, I think you would be a good choice, IMO.

I am happy to serve as leader on this one, not sure who will be the decision maker on that. Tara Jordan from lh will be there, too, and we could be co-leaders. We will both be there Friday and Saturday nights, too which will be good for some street teaming...

Sharon, sounds like a plan! I will be getting back with you with some ideas I have...and please pm me if you have any. Are you able to go in on any lh stuff to hand out like pens, pins, etc? I am getting prices on this right now.

Well.....The Pretenders ARE playing at 12:30am that same night. And I'd imagine they are going to be a pretty big draw.

Checked out exactly where Buffalo Billiards was and it is on the corner of 6th and Brazos. Front door on 6th Street. They didn't appear to be open, so we didn't park and get off. Omni Hotel is separated by one block from Buffalo Billiards and is uphill from it. 6th Street is a one way street. Plenty of parking garages around. Waterloo Records is on the corner of 6th Street and Lamar. Up from Buffalo Billiards. They have a small parking lot but there is lots of parking garages around. Went into Waterloo and they actually had a label made up for Marty Casey and Lovehammers which I have not seen anywhere. And they were sold out of the CD! Exit 234B, Coming from North I35 take a right on 6th street (one-way) and Buffalo Billiards is on the left. I don't think it would be a good idea to go and pay cover charges to the club and leave and expect to be able to come back in. There will always be other people with Badges or Wristbands that take priority over paying at the door. Once you are in the club, I think it would be best to stay in it. Especially if you just want to mainly see Lovehammers and to guaranteed that you are in. It would be a big gamble.
On hotels, 6th Street is right off I35 and is a long stretch of highway. Hotels and motels are all along it.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. I got an Austin Chronicle magazine and Marty Casey and Lovehammers (Chicago, Illinois) listed in there!

Current news found in the Austin Chronicle dated February 17th:
The Austin Chronicle will announce the dates when SXSW 2006 wristbands will go on sale in the February 24th issue.
So it looks like that this Thursday is not wristband sale day! I will get a new Austin Chronicle on Friday the 24th for the current info. at that time.
