Just saw this online in regards to Harrah's Casino in Joliet IL Saturday. Not sure if it is true or not but worth a shot for Chicagoans! "There will be entertainment from 2 p.m. to midnight May 13 on Stage 151, with the "Battle of the Bands Grand Finale." Also, starting at 6 p.m., the day-long fest will be hosted by Marty Casey, lead singer of the Lovehammers and Rockstar INXS runner-up. You know, I had someone email me about a week ago or so and mention something about Marty at Harrah's Joilet....but I get so many similar missives that mostly end up being wishful thinking that I just filed it away. Now I wonder if maybe they weren't on to something?

I think so...my friend who is a "regular" at Harrah's just called me and told me he is going to be there as well. Hmmm..........

I just called Harrah's; the person I spoke with could only confirm the event--she couldn't find info regarding Marty hosting. Will keep pursuing....

Ok so my friend went to Harrah's and said there was a poster there saying Marty was going to be the MC for the Band contest......pretty good confirmation I think??

There's a big ad in today's Red Eye for this event. There is a small picture of Marty and the following blurb:

Marty certainly is getting around. But when the heck are the boys coming down to Oz, it is getting very disappointing all these shows etc being announced and only in the USA. He and LH have fans eveywhere, we want our share  Why the f**k does Australia have to be so bloody far away!!! Nearly AU$4500 to get to Hammer Jam for 2 of us, just not affordable and thats not including any accommodation. Getting a little frustrated down under. Helen.  |
