I had the impression this was an engagement the band was hired to play and was not open to the general public. I think someone 'in the know' made a call and managed to get a few tickets which they inturn shared with a few people they knew or thought would be able to make it on short notice. Maybe several people were able to get a few tickets. I don't think that it ever became an open to the public show.
Knowing what I know about most Hammerheads is that had tickets been available for open sale they would have let the rest of us know it.
If there was a private party here and I talked to someone and they told me they would let me have 4 tickets, then I would only be able to take 3 of my friends.
That being said I am very happy for those that got to go. And I am so happy that the guys had real LH support there.
I think everyone is a little low right now not knowing when they will get to see the guys again. I understand that very well. I have had 2 trips planned and both times the shows were canceled and I still have never seen them perform much less get to meet and talk to any of them.
But this was a private party and I'm really happy a few Hammerheads were lucky enough to get to go to. And I appreciate that they have come here and shared their stories and posted their pics.
I just keep praying Hammerfest 2006 will happen because then it will be our party.
Sharon
sorry I was so long I hope that came out right, I just want everyone to feel better.

Okay I'm the one that started this and I've tried to correct it-- but here goes one more time.
In my original post on page one of this thread I wrote-- "from what I understand it was a matter of persistent instant phone calls that the band needed some of their fans there."
What I meant was that the LH fan from this board called the hard rock persistently and said--"come on--let us come--the LH fans need to be there. " I can see that I wasn't clear and it has caused all sorts of hard feelings. I was writing on 3 hours or less of sleep--after driving by myself back from vegas and in between clients at my office because I knew everyone was waiting for information about the show.
I'm going back to page one to make this clearer--I'm sorry I upset everyone who read that. It was interpreted in a way that was not the way I meant it. (although I can now with some rest see how you read it the way you did.) I've tried many times to correct that impression. I'm sorry I caused hard feelings for some by not being clearer.
I surrender!

Yes, fifty lashes with a wet noodle to whomever coined the inane term "snark" and 100 for those who use it.

OK. I am here to set everything straight. If anyone would know it would be me. I did not want to post this because I KNEW there would be fellow Hammerheads that may have been upset that they couldn't go, but this has gone on long enough.. ;D
I am the one that got the tickets to the Vegas show. About a week before the end of the sweepstakes I started calling whoever I could to try to get a ticket (even just 1) But kept getting the run around. After I figured I didn't win, and didn't see on either board that no one else won I started calling HARD ROCK CAFE, and FHM Magazine, and BEST SWEET FOODS (they make the XLR8 Chews). No one ever called me back at Best Sweet Foods, and the guy at FHM loved the idea but had no tickets since it wasn't their party. My only hope was HR Cafe. So about 2 weeks before the event I actually get someone to talk to and I (very professionally) talk to her in a matter of fact way that this is a private party but that this is still a relatively new band (as far as the mass public goes) and that they needed some support in the audience, she liked the idea but said would have to get the ok...bla bla bla.) So she takes my info and says she will call me in a few days. Well I didn't hear anything for a few days so I call and leave a msg, still no answer. So on Tuesday (the party is Thursday) I call again and ask for her AGAIN. she had been fired so I left 2 messages for the new lady but SHE never called me back that day...I was walking around all day so pissed and depressed, because I knew I was so close but would have no way to go...and I had only seen LH perform once at Viper and was so eager to see them again. Finally around 1 or 2pm or so someone else from HR Cafe called and long story short I was able to convince her LH needed fans there, so she offered me a few tickets. I don't post that much here or LH.com...mostly I just look for news and then see what people are saying on some of the threads. So I don't know a lot of people personally. I just know the people that I met at Viper Room. Basically, I did the best I could in the time I had to get people there to support our guys. I called some local people I knew and then some from other states that I thought might be crazy enough to go (treebee21...ha ha ha). I didn't want to say who I was, that I was the one that was able to get the tickets because I thought a lot of people would be mad at me if THEY didn't a ticket, but just immagine if YOU had gotten a limited # of tickets but knew that 1000 would be more than willing to go? How would YOU handle that? If I had posted on the boards that I had tickets I would have gotten 1000 e-mails for tickets, then HOW ON EARTH WOULD I have been able to decide on who to take (like Sophie's Choice) So I contacted the people I knew, then THEY would let me know of someone they knew that might (realistically) be able to get off work, get the money and get out the Vegas in 1 day. If I have had 3 weeks to get this done, yes that would have been different, but I had just over one day. Even the people I knew, I was calling/e-mailing them asking if they could go, but I needed to know right then otherwise I would have to find someone else...there was NO time. So that is how we got our crew.
Basically, I wanted to go so I did my best to make it happen. But even when I was talking to HR Cafe I said to her, I said..."even if I can't go, but if you could at least give them away on the radio or something." I just wanted to make sure LH had some representation (even if it couldn't be me) But it worked out in my favor. The lady asked me how many tickets I needed, I said "if she wanted to know how many I needed I told her I needed 500." Those were my exact words. But I said "but if you are asking me how many I can have, I'll take whatever you can give me".
Really people, I was trying to get as many as possible and I would have loved to have taken everyone, but I think I was lucky just to any at all. What is most important is that the guys appreciated it and we represented very well. So if anyone is upset that they weren't invited I am sorry, but I did the best I could in the time (1 day) I had. So can we please move on from this. Lets just take comfort in the knowledge that a video is on the way. YEA All the best everyone.

I surrender! hey CJ I think my using the word snarky-ness or something like that might have continued the hard feelings in some way - EVERYONE - my apologies for using a made up word that has different connotations for different people & that I may or may not offend someone. Please - understand my point, & insert whatever word you would like to - I was just trying to get the message out that there's no reason for hard feelings towards anyone anywhere anytime - all shows, m&g, personal experiences included. I'm sorry I quoted BBE & Rockbeast - I was NOT directing anything at either of them, yet on the same token it seemed appropriate to me to post what I had to say after reading that part. I did not (& do not) want anyone ANYwhere to have hard feelings, be upset, etc! I honestly wish every fan the LH ever had could have been there...and at the same time I wish I didn't have to personally feel responsible for not making that happen or be apologetic for the time I was able to spend with the band...or, feel defensive as I do now. anyway it's late & I'm sure I'm not articulating this exactly how I wanted to have it come across. Just thought this thread was getting off track of the original point of it...

I think you did an outstanding job with the amount of time you had to work with, Kimberly and you got more Hammerheads to the HR to support the guys than anyone else. (Well, and Jodie with her bus. ) I can only imagine how few there would have been there to support them...I can't even imagine them playing to an apathetic crowd.

thanks for that kimberly, but you didnt owe anyone an explanation on how you got tickets. I certainly understood with out asking anyone how they scored tickets.

yes...and with Rockdiva securing a couple of tickets...but when she wasn't sure that was going to stick, she called in some favors with a William Morris friend & got a few more. It was about persistence & not giving up. At the time I first talked to Kimberly about this I only knew RDG & I were going but was thrilled that Kimberly was kind enough to try to get the word out to as many people as possible in the short amount of time that was left before leaving for Vegas....yet without creating an uproar on the boards by just making a general post. seriously, the best effort was made with the few tickets she had available & in the tiny amount of time that was left before the show for anyone to realistically get to Vegas. A 3.5 hour drive took us TEN. Flight costs were probably ridiculous. It's a learning experience - in the end you could have walked in the place with a tv crew & you wouldn't have been stopped, but who knew?? Hindsite is 20/20!

Holy Cow.. I thought when I went to bed last night that this was kind of settled...
I'm going to make a few statements 1. Kimberly thanks for clarifying, but it wasn't needed. You had ever right to choose who you wanted to go.. you got the dang tickets. I appreciate and UNDERSTOOD that these were last minute and that you and RockDiva girl tried to get EVERYONE you could there. 2. It was a private party--thank goodness they were able to be there. Can you imagine how that would have felt the the guys if they had just had the nonLH fans there? Sure, it would have rocked, but can you imagine a concert without the crowd singing along. 3. I'm disappointed that the most amazing night ever has to be marred by these conflicts. These reviews are fun and are usually given on 2-3 hrs of sleep. We can't read into every phrase. I really love the post concert "squeeing" that goes on and I wouldn't want anyone not to do it just cause they are afraid people will take issue with them. 4. I'm still mad at Jodie and Doc for not spilling their stories.
Have a good day all........Vegas girls-You are my heroes.........I'm so happy you got to go.
We all have much better things to be concerned about..

I'm saddened that such an incredible and exciting thread about this event has spawned into this, where the people who were persistent enough to find a way to this event now feel the need to explain themselves.
I can only speak for myself in saying that I am just grateful for the amazing recaps and stories. I agree with Treebee and Isa - get over it. We ALL would like to have been there.
As for the girls who got to spend the whole night with four hot rockstars - I'm seething with jealousy filled with a whole lot of love!
cjspas, Kimberly87, Jodieca, Rockdivagirl, 4reeds, polarfan, mrsbud, treebee, doc and all the other girls from mc.org, the lh.com boards and sisterhood who got to attend this event, cherish your memories and SHARE YOUR PICTURES!!!!!!
edited because I wrote nearly the same post as DG and I swear I didn't read her's first. She's obviously a very intelligent lady... ;D

Thanks Klly..great minds think alike. I'm really, really upset about all this....You could go back through my over 10k posts and see that I don't get involved in conflict. I try to change the subject. So, that being said: BE WARNED Anyone has the right to post anything they want... But I will not let it pass lightly. They don't call me "Mommy Mod" in the Fangirl Forum for nothing. Anyone who posts anything that continues this conflict..I will send them a "special" pm. This is what one person had to say after recieving one of my "special"pms: night DG. my eyes! they burn! I love you all, but I'm really tired of the bickering. Be warned... Feel free to pm me all you want about this. And yes, I'm being an ubercontrol freak, but I feel as if my friends are being attacked and I'm done with that.

cj, rockdiva, kimberly, jodie, virginia, mrsbud, 4reeds and anyone else that attended the Vegas party....I came here this morning expecting to see 100 pages of pictures and glorious reviews from "the best LH fangirl experience" (so far). I have been waiting impatiently for new and fresh LH stories about their most recent gig. Yeah, I am sad I didn't get to go, but I am sad about EVERY LH concert that I didn't go to! Isn't that why this website exists? To share our love for this great band and our personal experiences. To provide pictures and thusly spread the joy and excitement that this band generates! My love and respect for this band grows with every great story and awesome photo you post. I come here knowing that I am not the only one who is crazy about this band....it is very comforting when someone writes their feelings and I find myself saying "yeah, me too" about a million times! Anyway, PLEASE post more stories and pictures...Jodie, I have especially been dying to hear your version, you always put such a great "energy" into your storytelling!!!
