Absolutely Penny. Guys, cut them some slack, Sh*t happens. They are rescheduling and offering refunds. I don't know what else someone could expect. If Marty were the singer who was sick, I'd bet you guys would not be saying this.

I just realized how mean my above post sounds. What I mean to say is: what Cindy said is absolutely right. Come on, they've given our boys a huge opportunity, and every lead singer has had to take time off for vocal problems. That's the way it is.

oh man! I sure am sorry for you guys that will not get to go because of this. I hope all of these dates are rescheduled and all of you get to go! I may not be crazy about the man but I hope he is feeling better soon and back to the tour. Laryngitis is not any fun at all!

And I re-read my post and realized that I don't mean to sound harsh to anyone who had tickets and are disappointed. I know I would be disappointed too if I had been going to one of these concerts. However, let's not come down on JD/INXS I am sure that if they didn't absolutely HAVE to do this, they would not have.

I just called the Midland (KC) and they said the show is not cancelled. The lady that answered failed to put the "yet" at the end of that comment, so who knows for sure. She's probably been hammered, that is lovehammered w/ phone calls. Guess we'll see.....

I agree its not his fault and these things do happen. But for me, who can only get off from work at certain times of the year, had purchased airline tickets, reserved a hotel room, and purchased the ticket from someone else, the blow seemed fatal. Sharon

Sharon
Most airlines will let you trade in the ticket for another date. Contact them immediately. The hotel room can be cancelled easy enough with a call. Your ticket will be good to get in the door I would think no matter which date.
I hope you can work this out. If not, then trade the airline ticket in for another date that you can use it.

I think INXS probably had no problem with JD performing when he is ill (part of being a rockstar) UNTIL they saw the Denver Post review. www.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_3459756At least our guys may be able to get some R & R with their friends & family in their hometown for a few days. I'm sure all shows will be rescheduled. Why would INXS want to give up that money?

This is very disappointing for all who are getting their concerts postponed....but I know I would not want to attend a bad show because someone was so sick they just couldn't perform. And I say this on behalf of INXS fans ....since this time it is JD who is sick....I am sure he did not get sick to upset all the LH fans!! I also feel bad JD got knocked so hard by that guy in Denver ( I think this guy owes him an apology!! what an a**) ....he was obvioulsy just trying to "go on with the show" and wasn't well enough....he at least tried.....and now his illness is forcing them to cancel so he can get better....I am sure INXS does not want another review like that one! This may be a blessing in disguise for the LH too...Marty mentioned how beat he and the guys were, giving it their all night after night...so he may well be next in line to get sick if he keeps pushing on ....this time off may do everyone some good...to rest up and recharge a bit.... I would rather have my concert postponed if the singer(s) weren't well enough to perform...and wait to see them do a great show...just not a so-so show... Just my little ole opinion...I know it is a huge disappointment to have a much anticipated show get postponed...truly I do...hopefully when they come around, they give a knock-out performance in both shows so all fans (INXS and LH) are happy.....

I agree. I would much rather see a refreshed singer than one struggling to get through a song. Painful for him and painful for us to listen to. Besides, this just means Marty will be that much more refreshed for us!!!
I am just feeling really bad for the people who are coming in from out of town for these shows. There is still nothing official for KC and think of all the people coming in that don't know about this. It's a total bummer for people that can't make it to the rescheduled date. I'd be very upset, but you can't blame someone if they are sick. Sh*t happens.

Thanks for trying to be positive Cindy I appreciate it, I really do. Its my boss, you see we can't take vacation time from Feb. thru April. I had gotten special permission to be off these 2 days because it fell right at the first of Feb. And I know, I can cancel the room and get credit for the airline ticket, and I suppose I might could even sell the concert ticket, it just breaks my heart. Its not about the money either. I'm just so disappointed. Sharon

Here's the latest that I got via the Radio STation in St. Louis River 101.1. JD is in fact sick with laryngitis and they have cancelled at least the next 2 or 3 concerts. I know it's at least KC along with St. Louis. The ST. Louis concert has been rescheduled for FEB 28 and the KC concert has been rescheduled for March 1st. That's the word I got from the DJ at the radio station. Another interesting note....this is the song request conversion I had with the DJ. "I'm bummed the concert is cancelled, so can I at least request a song". The DJ said, "sure I bet I know what song that is!!" I said what? She said "Pretty Vegas". I said, oophs, oh, yea, that's a good song to request too but I wanted to hear Marty Casey and the Lovehammers, number 11 from the new album "CLouds". The DJ said, well we don't have that CD. I said, ok, maybe we should sent it to you...DJ says "well somebody around here probably has it but we haven't been playing it yet. What gives? Anyway, I don't think it's about the LH, it's just that radio stations are boxed into a certain group of songs............bummer. What happened to free speech! Well, love ya all, will see you at the end of the month then. Julie

Thanks Julie for taking the opportunity to request a song by the Lovehammers. Gotta make sure everyone that hasn't heard them yet is asking, 'who are these Lovehammers?'

They say JD has bronchitis. It takes more then a few days to get over that. I wonder if any more concerts will be cancelled.

Fortune is battling a case of bronchitis.
All three dates have been rescheduled and tickets for the original dates will be honoured on the new dates. Patrons unable to attend the rescheduled performances may obtain a refund at point of purchase. Fan Club members who participated in a Fan Club presale for these dates will be notified with further details shortly.
RESCHEDULED DATES:
St. Charles, MO - Family Arena NEW DATE: TUES. FEB 28 (originally scheduled for Feb. 1)
Kansas City, MO - Midland Theatre NEW DATE: WED. MAR. 1 (originally scheduled for Feb. 2)
Minneapolis, MN - Orpheum Theatre NEW DATE: THUR. MAR. 2 (originally scheduled for Feb. 3)
"The doctor has just told J.D. and me that it is best not to take a risk by performing because it could damage his voice," says INXS's manager Martha Troup. "He has advised J.D. that he rest for the next few days."
The INXS tour will resume on Saturday, Feb. 4 in Chicago.
Stay tuned to the news for more details.
