I really wish I could go - wah ! j/k, but it would be fun. I don't see a problem with it. It's not like they re-scheduled or put off something else. It's a fairly easy thing for them to do. It's a good chance they'll be exposed to some non-Hammerheads and bam - there's the CD right in the store. Not bad to make a connection with Best Buy either. Something is better than nothing. Exactly, rc! Shows at Joes will probably only be attended by Hammerheads. Best Buy will offer an audience who hasn't heard Lh yet. This could mean a lot of sales. It's these one-on-one meetings that will convert people. Lh needs CD sales. Without them, tours, videos, and future CDs won't happen. The label needs proof that Lh is worth backing. The only proof a label wants is CD sales. If you haven't yet, I would suggest reading this article that Cindy posted in the ST thread. Click

Just a thought...... But I wonder if it is easier for Dino to play acoustic sets while he is still recovering? The White Sox was acoustic and my guess is that these shows will be acoustic too. It's definitely better than having to wait for exposure until he is fully healed. Just my take on the situation.

I don't quite get this, either. They are already well-known in Chicago. I can see them playing Tower Records or some other store that is dedicated exclusively to music, in markets that are less familiar with them, but I don't understand doing appliance store openings in their home town.
I mean, I'd still go to see them every chance I got, but gigs like Memphis make a lot more sense to me.

Just a thought...
Best Buy on Clark (Chicago) had an in-store performance by The Donnas before a "special show". Q101 sponsored the in-store appearance which was the day AFTER their show with The Jets at HOB. Keep an ear to the ground for a sudden show announcement.

For those of you Chicagoans: Has anyone heard any advertisement or any info about these performances? I am sad to say I havent heard anything about them performing there and I live within 20 minutes from both stores!! I'm pretty sure they will get a great turnout anyways considering it is not too far from where they grew up and the city. I dont know how early I should get there or if we need a wristband?? I'll post if I hear anything further!

Hi guys ,opening at best buy is a great opportunity to shoot video without security hassles. So maybe some of local fans can charge up the family camcorder, set up the tripod and make a nice video that can be distributed among fans.

I thought it was great news since the station has a huge audience, and this is one of the stations we were hammering to play Trees. I don't know anything yet about wristbands, etc.

Angie posted this address at LH.com for the Homewood store:
Homewood IL Store Address: 17800 S Halsted Ave , Homewood IL , 60430 Store Phone: 708-957-9348
I just called and confirmed that it is the correct store. The woman I spoke with said that they will be playing for 45 minutes and then signing autographs.
ETA: No wristbands or anything of the sort will be necessary.

Damn, I'm just not that far away! Maybe a little trip south would be a good thing! 45 minutes of LHs is better than 0 minutes of LHs. Now I just have to figure out how to get away from the family for the evening. ;D

For real! 45 minutes was the same amount of time that people saw Lh on the INXS tour, right? And it's free, right? If I lived anywhere near there, I would be there.

We would like to add the two Best Buy performances to the Concert Review Archive section. If you have a review of last week's performance, please let me, chk, or Fly know and we will post it for you. And get ready to write up a review of this Saturday's performance too! Thanks.
