Been talking to some others, we've decided that it would be great for the street teamers/fans to provide the guys with a care package when they arrived at "your" city. What do you all think? Since the Blue Note show is in my home town, I was planning a package with a few gift cards/certificates to all the local "musts" (must see, must eat at, must do, etc.) along with some snacks, personal items, etc. This way the guys will feel really welcomed to town and get to try some of the local faves without having to spend a ton of money or time figuring out what the hot spots are. If anyone has any other ideas post them here. Let's really make the band feel welcome in OUR towns!!!

That is an awesome idea! Maybe we could have coordinators for each town. Then, even if you don't live in the any of the tour towns, you could send something to the care package coordinator to be included in it.

Also, dearest Mod Squad...should we pin this? Move it somewhere? Just want to make sure everyone sees it!

Ok, we've got a coordinator for the Blue Note. Who's going to coordinate the other towns?

Great idea kbgirlrf!!! One thing eveyone may want to consider before getting gift cards/certificates to local places is how much time the band will have in that city. There are many back to back days and some where they have a day in between. If someone is wanting to get gift cards/certificates to a local place to eat or something like that perhaps it would be best to get that to them at the previous concert so they can plan ahead a little. Even better would be if someone could get some kind of schedule of when they may arrive and depart to help us plan better. Besides, I would love to see them have some of our great BBQ while they are here in KC!!
It really is a great idea considering all the "love" the band trys to give the fans at each concert, always polite and eager to meet us all (although I have yet to meet them).
ST LOUIS HERE WE COME!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to post this here. But visa gift cards are also a good idea. That way if they don't get to use it in "your" town, they can use it later on during the tour. Menus and brochures could accompany the card so they will know what the top spots are.

I love the idea of a gift package for the band...and the idea of letting them know about 'hot spots/places to eat' is great-yes knowing ahead of time sounds good.
I'm new here, but is there a place on the board or can we have a thread for each city/date and fans can list their favorite places? So the band can check it out-if they read the board?

Welcome Tina! I bet the mods wouldn't mind if we started threads in each dates sections. You could post one in the city that they are touring near you. I could do one for the Columbia - Blue Note show. Great idea! Other fans might like to know, too, if they are coming from out of town.

With gas prices climbing sky high the band is probably having trouble with traveling from city to city so a check for gas would probably be great for them. They are not coming anywhere near me but I can mail a check so that it gets to a venue before they do. Hopefully THEY will get it.

My hubby just suggested a gas gift card last night. That's funny. I am probably going to the KC show, too. So, anything that comes in after the Blue Note show I will bring to KC with me.

They have to pay for their own gas too?
