Hey everyone, you can now listen to the CD, "Marty Casey and the Lovehammers", in its entirety on VH1.com!!! This ability should last for a few weeks or so (that's how long INXS's Switch's link lasted) so hurry up and listen! (Casualty kicks ass!) www.vh1.com/artists/az/lovehammer/1198002/album.jhtmlVERY VERY EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh...sorry Cindy, I've been crazy busy at Lh board (with modding, etc) I haven't been able to get on this board lately. - Still doing the site updates for here at LH though, so no worries there - I saw the Bio thread here and assumed it was just about their new main page - sometimes I forget how on top of things ya'll are here ;D - so I figured I'd give the CD its own page. You can delete this thread or combine the two together or whatever. Sorry if I just took up space or something, didn't mean to...Losta , Tooks!

AHA! So that is where you have been. No seriously Tooks, your post can stay. No worries. It doesn't hurt to have started the clips' own thread. I just was amused since we had all been squeeing over it already.

Ok here is a guess at some of the solutions for those not on a MAC who may be having problems..... the media player renders as a jhtml link which means it is running with Java technology. A couple of things to check on your browsers.... Go to Tools Internet Options Advanced and look for the Java list. See if Java Sun is listed and the java applet box is checked. If Java doesn't appear in your list or it doesn't seem to be working.... go to www.java.com and try to download Java for your computer. I am not promising this will solve it, but its free and worth a try.

Message he received was there was a "digital rights management component missing" Button to update and pressed button. Waaaala. HTH

Wow, great to hear the new CD. I really like the version of Trees. Some of the other songs are almost too smooth though. I'm used to the original CDs and the DVD versions. It'll take some getting used to. I don't want Marty to abuse his voice, but I don't want him to lose the intensity he sings with either. I think it was a bit over-mixed. What do you all think? DON'T GET ME WRONG. I LOVE IT.

I loved hearing the new CD. There are many songs which have single potential and they have appeal to both rock and more mainstream radio. I'm rooting for them all the way! Can't wait for my copies coming from EPIC and I will probably go buy a couple on the 24th.
desinsantarosaca-- I hate to make a judgment about the mixing till I hear the CD copy on my stereo because my computer speakers are so bad. When I downloaded MOMM--I was thinking "okay"--until I burned the CD and listened to it on my stereo and then I was wowed.

cjspas - Good point about waiting to hear the CD before judging the mixing. I agree with you about the single potential too. I know I'm biased, but I think they're all singles, no kidding.
The ones that seem over-mixed are The Tunnel and Eyes Can't See. I don't think the LH's will have a problem reaching their platinum goal - Go, Go, Go! They have awesome music, and they seem to have really paid their dues already.
Spread the word Lovehammer fans!

ok just listened to whole thing all the way thru. It really is fantastic. An actual tear escaped when I heard Marty's new vocals on Clouds. The Tunnel rocks, Trees is gorgeous. Call of Distress is really good --less edgy, but I really like the siren effects. For me, The Riddle (Yes it Do) has lost a little of its hook, but that's a small quibble. Congrats, Hammers. The cd rocks!

I'm listening right now as I'm reading all of these threads. I love it-- Each song could be a single and appeal to everyone!! We still get to hear some of screaming Marty and more laid back as well. We get it all!! Hold On!!--Wow I love it!! Eyes was my favorite b/4 and it still sounds great on the cd. I wish I could have the cd to play in the car. I hope they deliver the pre-orders early I'm totally getting all of my kids' friends to dig the Lovehammers and I'm sure they'll love this new cd.

Found out about Marty on Rockstar INXS. Then was turned on to Lovehammers. Some of their music was a little heavy for me (though I bought it all, lol). I REALLY like the sound of this new CD. Sorry if it misses some of the edge for you original Lovehammers fans, but I do believe it is going to be a smash hit for a broad, broad audience. And I think that is good for the Lovehammers, no? It still is very edgy, in my opinion, and I don't see the overmix thing you mention. I'm so glad to be seeing the band in Chicago!!!!

Just Casualty. Marty wrote it after he left the RS:INXS show. Five others are taken from MOMM and rerecorded. The others are songs that haven't been released on an album before, just demos and EPs.

This is what Dino wrote on the LHs board when the track list was released:
The only songs that have been released are (Tunnel, Eyes, Clouds, Call of Distress, and Rain) These songs are different now...
Everything else has just been on demos or something. All songs were at least re-mixed, some were totally re-recorded, some got new vocals, etc - most likely all songs will sound different, and hopefully better to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We wanted this album to be somewhat of a History of the band, we wanted to keep it raw, but at the same time feel comfortable with the songs - I think everyone will dig them. Casualty is a cool rock song that Marty and this dude Mitch Allen wrote right after Marty finished the show - we thought it was a cool rock song, and written about the show, so why not include it on the album!!!!!!!
