Henry, Heartotexas and I will be arriving at O'Hare at approx 1PM on Friday. We plan to cab together over to the Howard Johnson Inn on North LaSalle Street. If others wish to join us (and you arrive at O'Hare airport before 2PM) maybe we could flag down a shuttle van or something or ensemble onto the train if the weather is not too nasty (snow showers to end today). PM me if you are interested in joining our caravan to the HoJo!

(this is NOT a recommendation because I have never used this service before)
FYI: Here is a toll-free number for a Chicago airport shuttle service to hotels in the city.
AIRPORT EXPRESS: 1-800-654-7871
I asked how much from O'Hare airport to the Howard Johnson on LaSalle and was told $14 EACH (1-way) for 3 people. A roundtrip price was cheaper but the 3 of us will be returning to the airport separately so I asked about the 1-way price. They probably service Midway airport as well, however I did not ask. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS SERVICE IS CHEAPER THAN A CAB! I SUGGEST YOU CALL AND GET WHAT INFO YOU NEED....I hope this helps some of you to get to your hotel! See you on Saturday night!!!
For those on a budget, I also heard there is a $2 train ride into Chicago, but I am not familiar with the stops/schedules of this train.

For those of you staying at Howard Johnson's, the train is $2.00 and I was told it's an easy ride. You just need to change from the Blue Line over to the Red Line (not sure which station you switch at) and exit at the Chicago Avenue station. Go 3 blocks West and one South and voila - HoJo's.
Woman on the phone said she believes a taxi is about $35 or so from the airport.
Can't wait to meet you all tomorrow night!

Yes the train is good. We used the train and buses the whole time in Chicago for Oyster Fest and it really worked out fine. I bought a 3 day pass at the airport for the CTA and it was $20 used it the whole weekend on both trains and buses. I plan to do the same.
If by chance you are coming in at Midway you take the Orange line train to Clark/Lake exit. I can give you more specific directions to HoJo if needed up until Friday about 7am when I leave for the airport.
looking forward to seeing my friends and meeting those of you I haven't me yet.
safe travels all Sharon
