Ok, I'll be first. My friend and I who have been stuck at home with kids all summer decided to get out of dodge as early as we could. So we got into Buffalo a little after four thinking we'd find the venue, get our bearings and find a restaurant before the show. When we passed the place we saw Yaketyak standing outside talking to Randy in front of the tour van. So we parked and got out. We ended up meeting Yak, Wendy, Geenine80 (my new old friend from back home ) and Jenny. So we stuck around. These gals were so gracious and warm to us. Jenny we still owe you a drink and you are the Hammerhead girl scout ( prepared for everything). Thank you so much. Then a bunch of other girls showed up like Yerba and Chifan who I was so happy to see. I met a bunch of others who were just so much fun to chat with. Well the show was great and I decided not to take any pictures 'cause I just wanted to experience the whole thing. The set list was pretty much the same, except we got treated with Summertime in the City and Sleeper. Marty mentioned that it was their first time in Buffalo and they stopped to see Niagara Falls 'cause Dino made them. They did one encore which was Lets get wasted and Paint It Black. Unfortunately there was no meet & greet but the show was amazing. I also started talking to an older women on line who was there with her adult son. SHe loved Marty on rockstar and got hooked on the show because of him even though she didn't care for Rock music. SHe didn't know about the Lovehammers because the venue was advertising it as Marty Casey w/ Special Guests. Well I told her she was in for some great rock and roll. So after the show I just had to ask her what she thought and she happily replied "I loved it. It was great". It was my friends first show and she loved it. She was also so amazed about how sweet the fans were and how cool it was to meet them. She toatlly understood why I love going to these shows and hanging out in our little cyber community here.

Hi Needy! It was great to finally meet you! This band attracts the nicest people. And I'm so glad your friend (Sherry?) loved the show.

So glad you had a good time Needy and am very glad there is now a new LH fan around! If we could just get the music out to the masses, they would have incredible fame!

She was also so amazed about how sweet the fans were and how cool it was to meet them. She toatlly understood why I love going to these shows and hanging out in our little cyber community here. Guess I'm second. My husband, son and I got there when the second band was on stage. There were three bands in all before Lh took the stage. We absolutely loved the place. Since we're from outside Buffalo, we had not been there before. It is an old movie theater done over into a music hall. The floor is on a slope, so even people farthest back from the stage could see really well. They had some scattered movie seats here and there and we found some about half way back from the stage. When the Lh came out as has already been described in other posts, Marty came out last accompanied by a hugh cheer from the crowd, of course. Seeing him in person is so completely different than watching him on TV. He really is larger than life!!! His stage presence is beyond amazing... the way he folds the audience into the act. At one point, he picked out a tall blond who was standing near our seats. She had a 35mm camera with a telephoto lens, who I thought was probably a professional photographer or perhaps a reporter covering the event. Shortly before that, he came down into the audience and ran past us, touching hands along the way, and finally climbing up above everyone. The other band members were amazing as well. My husband and son are both guitarists and were very impressed with Billy as you can imagine. Seeing them perform was awesome to be sure but they were better than even I expected. Absolutely would see them again in a heartbeat (all of us) and can't wait until we get the chance. We attempted to take some pictures but our digital camera had a difficult time and even at full zoom, they're pretty dark. Anyway, we had an amazing time and feel very lucky that we got the change to see them in action.

Artzlady: I'm glad you enjoyed your first show. Of course you'll love to see them again. This is not a band that you see once and just buy their CD. When Marty is up there with the guys, you don't feel like he's just performing for the audience. You feel like he's playing with you. It makes you feel like a kid and your playing a pick up game of hide and seek in the dark on a beautiful summer evening and all you can do is laugh and have a blast. What a blast for this suburban mother or two.

We thought we might be some of the older people who were there but we were wrong about that. There were others definitely older than us and I've come to the conclusion that you're never too old to see the Lh!!! We've been going to concerts for years but have not enjoyed one this much... probably ever!

Artzlady, so glad you enjoyed your first show! It's true that Marty is really amazing in person ... he connects with an audience unlike anyone I've ever seen, and I've been going to concerts for a long time. These guys can practically read each other's minds, they obviously enjoy what they are doing, and they give 100% every night.
Do you know about Hammerjam?

Wendy, Don't know what happened to my post on this from yesterday, but I'll try it again. Yes, I know about Hammerjam and wish we could go. However, it may not be possible. Luckily I think there are still tickets available if we find we can make the trip. We should know in a few days.
