As you know we are doing a benefit for a friend that died a couple months ago. Craig was someone we have known since kindergarten, and have lived with in one way or another since college. Many of you know Craig as "kervorkian" - long story. Anyway, Craig lived in every Hammerhouse, so I am sure most of you have either run into him, or talked to him on several occasions.
There will be a silent auction at Rockit. We are currently looking for business to donate things for this Auction. It is a fairly common practice that most companies love to get involved in because it is a great way to market. Anything can be donated for the silent auction, so please spread the word if you work for large companies, or know anyone taht may be interested. Below is a letter that you can send to contacts at companies:
Dear Friends,
Rockit Bar and Grill and Chicago’s Lovehammers are pleased to announce that we are hosting a Benefit for Craig Rife on June 21, 2007 from 6pm-8pm. Craig tragically passed away due to a snowmobile accident. Rockit and Lovehammers are hosting this benefit to help the Rife family cover all of the expenses and financial burdens left behind from this tragedy.
Enjoy Passed chef choice appetizers, complimentary Bacardi and Shiner Boch Beer Cocktail Reception, silent auction, and a live set by Lovehammers! Best of all, the $20.00 donations at the door and silent auction proceeds will go directly towards Craig Rife’s family.
As a supplement to the benefit, we are putting together a silent auction and are looking for any potential donations from your organization/business.
