OK, so after reading Lisa's post I realize there is not that much more to add. The coolest thing was how everyone was just sitting at the different tables so that everyone could see. There were a couple people in the audience who had birthdays and he made sure to do a shout out to them. One husband came up and played WYWH with him for his wife's birthday that evening. It was very cool. It was also nice to just hang out and have a beer with him after the show. He seemed to really be enjoying himself. During the part where he asked for questions I came very close to asking "so who is your presidential incumbent" because of his blog. I decided to mention it to him right before a picture was snapped of us and he responded that I totally should have cause that would have been quite funny. Oh well...next time? Anyway it was a great show and I look forward to any shows I may get to attend in the future.

THe Bourbon St show was so awesome my road trip buddy and i could not resist and headed to Ft Meyers. That was one of the best decisions that i have ever made. THe room was smaller than my living room and Marty was in a very casual mood. He was dressed in jeans and made the night like one big party.
It was a very different crowd. There were only about 6 or so lifer fans and the rest of the room were new. I think most had seen him on tv. I think there were less than 80 people in total. It was sort of weird that only 6 of us knew the words to the songs. Marty was extremely funny. And the crowd was even funnier. On 3 different occasions in between songs while he was talking someone would walk right up to him and ask him to sign something or for a song. He said most people shout out requests but this one woman walked right up to him within inches of his nose and asked him to play a song - IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS SHOW...he called her the polite woman. Another woman did the same thing while he was talking and asked him to sign her boob. Well that was excellent fodder for Mr. Casey's unique sense of humor. You could see it in his face that having fans walk up to him and start talking in the middle of a set was a new and unique experience. He kept looking over to us lifers with his funny expression like :what the ****.... ANd then would burst into fits of laughter. It was so delightful just to watch him laugh so much. And that smile that could light a thousand cities.
he sang alot of the same songs, but Skinny White Guitar Player and Like a Good WIne were new that night. Both were up tempo and really fun and good. Hope LH winds up with them. His intro stories to the songs were even more personal than the night before and when he sang them it felt like they were more personal to him as well.
On Friday night when he was doing Creep he told us the story of how after he the last line of Creep (Idont belong here) Tim Farrell shouted out You do belong here Marty...said it was the cheesiest reality show line and got cut out. haha. Well when he finished the last line of the song Sat nite, we life fans could not resist and shouted out to him the line...he went into hystrics laughing. Then told everyone we were following him for so long we had our own inside jokes. then told the story. We had alot of great moments like that. He had us sing along to Trees, WYWH. ANd was surprised that we already knew the words to some of the new songs...of course we do.
After the show every single person there got in line for the meet and greet. We lifers stood back and let all these new found fans enjoy this man. Then it was kick back and party. It was casual, and i felt like i was at someone's home and Marty just happened to be there. No explaining how cool that was. We all got to chat with him alot and had a blast. I do not think I have ever seen him so happy and so comfortable. I think it is evdient on the vids as well.
If I never get to see another live show with Marty Casey I will always have this wonderful and unique experience with him. I felt like i was let into see an intimate and personal side of him that he seldom shares to the public. I wish everyone could have been there.
He did announce that he has been asked to open with his solo act for someone (sorry did not catch the name) in March in CHicago, i think. So there may be more opportunity. We all know how those things go, sometimes they pan out and sometimes they dont. So please do not take it as gospel. Especially from me. I hope that 2008 brings us both lots of LH and lots of MC solo with new cds from both. This man is extraordinary as an artist, as a performer, and as a human being. I am still in awe at what i experienced this weeked. And i have Cindy and Amy and all my friends here to thank. I never, ever would have gone to one show if you all had not befriended me and let me tag along. This has been the time of my life. Thanks. Liz

Great reviews from Fla. everyone ! This concert especially sounded very intimate and fun. But who has more fun than Marty and his Hammerheads, anyway? The reviews and photos are all so great to see (especially for us on the left "concertless" coast. I did tweak a few because they were so good, for rockerinmiami with her permission to "bring up the stagelights" so to speak. Lighting for these venues is not camera friendly, for sure - but make for good performance lighting. I'll repost them here for her. ...more to follow.
